Fantasy Basketball Daily News (12/10/09)

It was a quiet fantasy news night on Wednesday, but at least there weren’t any major injuries to report.  Only three games on the schedule for Thursday.  Fantasy Football playoffs in my league start tonight with Pittsburgh at Cleveland.  I need a really big game out of Heath Miller to get my playoff game started right.

  • Brandon Rush got a start Wednesday due to Granger’s injury but didn’t do much with it, 8pt/2reb in 24 minutes.
  • Daniel Gibson had a right hand injury on Wednesday.  He left in the 2nd quarter and didn’t return.
  • Ben Gordon missed on Wednesday, no word yet on when he will return.
  • Richard Jefferson finally had a good game last night putting up 23 points.  I’ve pretty much given up hope of ever using him in daily leagues because of his inconsistency, as well as the fact that he really offers nothing outside the points category.
  • Looks like Vinny Del  Negro may be the next coach to go.  The Bulls really stunk it up last night getting destroyed by the Hawks.
  • Kirk Hinrich returned on Wednesday, but he probably shouldn’t have going  0 for 9.  As I stated yesterday, if he can’t shoot, he can’t help your fantasy team.  Leave him benched until the thumb heals.
  • Allen Iverson looked bad last night shooting 3 of 10 with 6 turnovers.  Philly can get that from Jrue Holiday.
  • Luke Ridnour was able to play on Wednesday, although he was wearing a brace on the elbow he injured on Tuesday.
  • Terrence Williams was a DNP-CD again last night.
  • PistonPowered.com reports that Richard Hamilton may not return until January 1.
  • StraightOuttaVancouver.com reviews Sam Young
  • Brandon Jennings took a bad fall on his left knee last night but seems to be ok.  Check his gametime status just to make sure he is a go in his next game.
