Fantasy Basketball Daily News and Notes (10/4/10)
Oct 4, 2010 Blog
Josh McRoberts – The starting PF spot in Indiana is ‘his to lose’. McRoberts is a nice sleeper and a possibility in keeper leagues. He only has Tyler Hansbrough to compete with and who knows if Hansbrough is going to play after missing most of last season with some kind of inner ear problem.
Joakim Noah – He signed a 5 year, $60 million contract extension, so he’s got some stability now. If there was ever a player who could get a little wild and lose focus after getting a big contract, it might be Noah.
Taj Gibson – He’s going to be a solid play for the first month filling in for Carlos Boozer.
New Jersey – The Nets starting five in their Sunday preseason game was Devin Harris, Anthony Morrow, Travis Outlaw, Kris Humprhries and Brook Lopez. Troy Murphy was nursing a groin injury.
Gilbert Arenas – Missed a couple days of camp with an ankle problem and I’m not sure how serious it is. Keep an eye on it.
Andrew Bynum – His return has now been pushed back to December. Lamar Odom will be a good play until Bynum returns.
Andrei Kirilenko – The Jazz have be playing him at power forward in team scrimmages. He’ll probably see time at PF and SF, at least until Mehmet Okur returns. Kirilenko has the ability to help you in the blocks category.
Tyreke Evans – He’s going to be shooting more jumpers this season, which should help open up more opportunities for assists and drives to the basket. However, it will hurt his FG%.
