Daily Fantasy News 9/17/09

I’m reading some Boozer-David Lee trade rumors, but I’m not sure that is really something that could happen, but keep an eye on it.  It probably wouldn’t be good news for Lee’s fantasy value having to compete with Millsap/Okur, but Boozer would probably go wild in NY, especially since he likely wouldn’t be back there in 2010.

TheHoopDoctors.com weigh in with their opinion on this year’s Rookie of the Year race and rankings.

Philly.com  on Andre Iguodala:  “Jordan’s system calls for a two-guard front, not necessarily including a traditional point guard, and there has been mention of Iguodala’s handling some lead-guard duties.”  LibertyBallers.com with more on Iguodala.  More assists would definitely help Iguodala’s fantasy value and you have to like him having the ball in his hands more.  More opportunity creates more fantasy stats.

Dime Magazine with a list of five new players that can put up 2+ blocks a game this season.  Everyone is looking to pad that elusive blocks category, so keep these fantasy guys in mind.

LibertyBallers.com with an excellent video (4 minutes) on the basics of the Princeton Offense.   Very basic, but informative.

Miami Herald on Mario Chalmers“One reason Pat Riley feels adamant that Mario Chalmers should start — and doesn’t want to acquire a veteran or sign Jamaal Tinsley — is his belief Chalmers will blossom just as Boston’s Rajon Rondo has. Riley wants Chalmers to shoot more three-pointers, but defense is a concern.” More 3’s would be pretty sweet for fantasy owners.  Chalmers hit 114 last season at a 36.7% rate.  Chalmers was also top 10 in steals with 2.0 per game, so his defense is solid, at least in the fantasy defense stats.

Dime Magazine reports that the Indiana Pacers have signed Luther Head.  Nice pickup by the Pacers.  Head is a nice source of 3’s and could get some time with Dunleavy still recovering.  He is 393-993 (39.2%) from 3PT range over the last 4 seasons and carries a career eFG% of 52.1%.  Head turns 27 this season.  IndyCornrows.com also with analysis of the deal.
