Fantasy Basketball Daily News and Notes (12/20/10)

Daily Cash Games – I played in the Fanduel.com $4000 Fantasy Football Tournament yesterday and was in 8th place out of 547 entries after the early games, but the Pittsburgh defense let me down and I slid down the rankings.  Back to basketball tonight.

Holiday Posting Schedule – I probably won’t be posting much from Christmas Eve through January 3rd.  I have family coming in for Christmas, the kids are out of school, my wife is off from work and I have a wedding to go to on New Year’s Day.  I’ll be back full speed on Monday, January 3rd.

Notes from Sunday’s action:

Roy Hibbert (IND) – Trying to get back on track, 8-23 for 17 points and 14 rebounds.  The 23 shot attempts are great to see.

Paul Pierce (BOS) – Triple-double, 18pt/10re/12ast.  His assist totals have really jumped with Rajon Rondo out.  The Celtics seem to be running the offense through Pierce rather than Nate Robinson.

Nate Robinson (BOS) – Got another start in place of Rajon Rondo, 7-15 shooting for 18 points.  He only had 2 assists.

Shaquille O’Neal (BOS) – Returned from a leg injury and played 21 minutes, 11pt/5reb.

Joe Johnson (ATL) – He’s having some problems shooting the ball after his recent elbow surgery, 4-16 for 14 points.

Jordan Farmar (NJN) – Farmar was back on the bench after getting a few starts in place of the injured Anthony Morrow.  Stephen Graham got the start last night, but isn’t worth an add.

Troy Murphy (NJN) – Murphy was back active Sunday getting 22 minutes of run, which really cut into Kris Humphries minutes.  New Jersey could be giving him some run in hopes of shopping him for a trade.

Sasha Vujacic (NJN) – Got 29 minutes, 10pt/6reb/6ast/3st.   Keep an eye on what the Nets intend on doing with him.  If he’s going to get 30 minutes a night, he could be a nice add.

Andrew Bynum (LAL) – Bynum gave fantasy owners a little hope last night, 16pt/7reb in only 18 minutes of action.  He did say that he felt some ‘twinges’ in the knee though, so check his next gametime status.  Pau Gasol owners probably weren’t quite as happy since Gasol only got 30 minutes.

Jose Calderon (TOR) – Second good game in a row, 20pt/12ast.  Jerryd Bayless only got 18 minutes and went 1-7 for 4 points.  Calderon seems to be back in control of the starting job.

Linas Kleiza (TOR) – Kleiza is trying to take over the SF role again, 26pt/10reb.

Marcus Thornton (NOR) – Didn’t have it last night, 1-5 for 3 points.  What can you expect with such inconsistent playing time?

Tayshaun Prince (DET) – Had a great game with Richard Hamilton and Rodney Stuckey out, 28pt/12reb/8ast/3blk.

Will Bynum (DET) – Got 37 minutes with Rodney Stuckey out with a toe injury, 21pt/9ast.

Aaron Brooks (HOU) – Returned to the court, but looked rusty, 3-10 shooting for 9 points.  Only 1 assist.  He will obviously hurt the fantasy value of Kyle Lowery.

DeMarcus Cousins (SAC) – Cousins was a gametime decision with a sore ankle, but played well, 19pt/8reb/4blk.  Fantasy owners have to love the blocks.

Tyreke Evans (SAC) – Tough night shooting, 6-21 for 14 points.

Steve Nash (PHO) – Nash didn’t seem to be affected by his recent neck stinger, 20pt/10ast in 32 minutes.

Robin Lopez (PHO) – He’s still not rebounding the ball and it could cost him the starting spot once Marcin Gortat arrives.  Gortat is a must add.

Nick Collison (OKC) – Collison got 30 minutes while Serge Ibaka only got 11.  Nenad Krstic is still out with a back injury and this position will become even more crowded once he returns.

Tracy McGrady (DET) – McGrady suffered another injury last night.  This one is a groin injury.  Shocking, I know.

Brandon Jennings (MIL) – He’ll miss tonight’s game with a foot injury.
