Fantasy News and Notes from Friday’s Fantasy NBA Action:

Kurt Thomas (CHI) – Grabbed 18 rebounds and makes a great cheap fill in if you need help in the category.  Joakim Noah isn’t expected back anytime soon, so Thomas should keep the starting spot for awile.

Roy Hibbert (IND) – It’s amazing how far Hibbert has fallen over the last six weeks.  He started off the first month of the season as a top 5 center, but now he’s barely playable, 1-8 for just 2 points Friday.  He doesn’t really have anyone in Indy to steal his job outright, so hang on to him and hope that he gets it turned around.

Darren Collison (IND) – Had a tough night shooting, 4 of 16, but fantasy owners should still be happy to see that he got 16 shot attempts.  His shot will start falling and the points will come.  He’s a great trade target.

Paul George (IND) – Keeper league owners who are out of the race and rebuilding should definitely take a flier on George.  The guy can play.

Andre Iguodala (PHI) – He managed 38 minutes of action against the Bucks and put up a nice line, 15pts/6reb/7ast/1stl/1blk.  It’s probably safe to get him active again.

Jodie Meeks (PHI) – Might not survive in the starting lineup much longer, 1-8 for only 3 points.  Lou Williams went 7-14 for 25 points and could steal the job.

Tracy McGrady (DET) – He’s turned into a great short term fantasy value, 22pts/4reb/5ast.  It could end at anytime with the tweak of a knee or ankle, but continue to ride the streak while it lasts.  This could also be a showcase for an upcoming trade involving McGrady.

Rip Hamilton (DET) – Got another DNP-CD.  You have to think he’s involved in a possible trade and the Pistons aren’t risking injury.  There’s really no other reason to have a guy like Hamilton riding the pine behind Ben Gordon and McGrady.

Greg Monroe (DET) – I’m really starting to like this guy, 12pts/7reb.  He plays some great defense, racking up 3 steals and a block last night.  He’s got a decent 46.7 FG%, but he does have a problem with free throws, hitting them at a 55% rate.   He also does a pretty good job limiting his fouls. A definite add in keeper leagues.

Andea Bargnani (TOR) – Continues to play well, 12-25 for 31 points and even grabbed 9 rebounds and blocked a shot.

Leandro Barbosa (TOR) – Strained a hamstring and could miss some time.  DeMar DeRozan would pick up some extra minutes if Barbosa is out.

Shaq O’Neal (BOS) – The old man just keeps getting it done, 23pts/5reb with 5 blocks.  He’s going to keep seeing big minutes, especially if J. O’Neal elects to undergo surgery on his knee.

Tyreke Evans (SAC) – Was able to go 34 minutes last night, but the foot problems are really hampering his shot, 4-15 for 9 points.  Right now he just doesn’t seem to have the explosive drive to the basket that his game is built on.

DeMarcus Cousins (SAC) – 16pts/10reb/3blk, he’s having a great rookie season and should be the starter in the second half.

Amare Stoudemire (NYK) – Big game from Amare, 25pts/13reb with 5 blocks and 2 steals.  The Knicks still lost though.  They just need one more player to be a contender.

Raymond Felton (NYK) – Couldn’t hit anything, 2-15 for 6 points and only 6 assists.

Shawn Marion (DAL) – Has lucked into becoming a decent fantasy player with all the injuries for the Mavs, 14pts/10reb.

DeJuan Blair (SAS) – I own Blair in a few leagues and he is frustratingly inconsistent, but he can have big games, 18pts/13reb.

Emeka Okafor (NOR) – Good line against the weak interior of the Rockets, 17pts/15reb.

Marcus Thornton (NOR) – Only 13 minutes with Belinelli out.  It’s looking like the only way Thornton is going to have fantasy value is with a trade out of New Orleans.  Jarrett Jack got 37 minutes filling in for Belinelli, 23pts/7ast.

Kevin Martin (HOU) – Returned to action and played 43 minutes, 26 points on 9-17 shooting.  The wrist looks fine so get him active.

Mo Williams (CLE) – Threatening to shut it down due to some nagging injuries.  Be careful using him.

J.J. Hickson (CLE) – Taking his second chance opportunity seriously, 21pts/14reb.   He’ll continue to start as long as he rebounds the ball.

C.J. Miles (UTA) – He’s one of the best 6th men in the league right now, 20 points on 8-13 shooting.

Brook Lopez (NJN) – 35 points on 13-19 shooting.

Sasha Vujacic (NJN) – He should really be starting over Stephen Graham.  If he does grab the starting spot, he’s a great add.

Andrew Bynum (LAL) – Tough game, 2pts/5reb on 1-5 shooting.

Wesley Matthews (POR) – Was a gametime decision, but still managed to play 40 minutes, 26 points on 9-20 shooting.  He doesn’t do anything else but score.

Grant Hill (PHO) – Returned after missing a couple of games and looked good, 21pts/7reb.

Anthony Randolph (NYK) – Reportedly on the trade block.  Keep an eye on him and be ready to grab him off the wire if he lands in an attractive spot.
