Fantasy Basketball Daily News and Notes (12/6/11)

It’s been hard to find any real news lately, most everything has just been rumors of player movement.  Can’t wait until December 9th when we should get some concrete facts.   I’m hoping to get rankings up next week.   It’s been almost impossible to get anything put together this week without free agency results.

Roy Hibbert (IND) – Hibbert spent some time working out with Tim Duncan during the lockout and might have picked up some useful tips to help his game this year.  He should be a solid center this season.

Andray Blatche (WAS) – Blatche is still having problems with his shoulder and says it’s about 75-80% healthy.  Add that to his attitude problems and he might be slipping down draft boards.

Ty Lawson (DEN) – George Karl says that Lawson should play 30-35 minutes a game this season.   Lawson could be in a good position to have a big fantasy year.

Travis Outlaw (NJN) – Outlaw suffered a broken hand and it’s unknown whether he’ll be ready for the upcoming season.  His shooting percentage declined last season and a lingering hand injury certainly isn’t going to help.

Joakim Noah (CHI) – Noah says the ankle injury that bothered him at the end of last season has healed and he’s back to 100%.

Wesley Matthews (POR) – Portland might not amnesty Brandon Roy, which creates a real dilemma for Matthews’ fantasy owners.  I’ve got him in one keeper league and I’m really not sure what to do with him.  I haven’t seen anything on Roy’s expected minutes, but this can’t be good at all for Matthews.

Jared Jeffries (NYK) – Jeffries is returning to the Knicks and could open the season as the starting Center.  He doesn’t offer much fantasy value, but at 6’11 he could pick up some nice rebounds and blocks.

Marvin Williams (ATL) – Williams had offseason back surgery and says he’s now pain free.  Everyone always seems down on Williams, but he’s a great bench depth roster filler for your squad.  Not flashy, but dependable.

Norris Cole (MIA) – The Miami rookie could see some time at PG this season and could have a prominent role if Mario Chalmers doens’t remain with the Heat.  Keep and eye on the situation and be ready to scoop Cole up in keeper leagues.

Stephen Curry (GSW) – Curry supposedly added 10 pounds of muscle to his upper body for this season.  Too bad he couldn’t put some of that muscle on his ankles.  His fantasy value should be similar to last season.

Andrei Kirilenko (FA) – Kirilenko has an injured shoulder and could miss the first few weeks of the season.  Not sure where he is going to sign this season, but you’ll probably have to stash him on the bench for awhile if you draft him.
