Fantasy Basketball Daily News and Notes for November 18
Nov 18, 2012 Blog
Sorry for the lack of posting last week guys, it was a busy work week. Some great college football games last night, as well as an eight game NBA Schedule. Here’s a look at Saturday’s fantasy basketball action:
Toronto 89 @ Boston 107
Kyle Lowry will be out for another 1-2 weeks and Jose Calderon will be a great short term add until Lowry returns. Calderon put up 10 points and 9 assists last night.
Jonas Valanciunas’ fantasy value is falling quickly. He only logged 19 minutes, but I think you have to give him another week before cutting him. Keeper league owners should hang on and be patient.
Rajon Rondo picked up 20 assists.
Kevin Garnett got some rest last night only logging 17 minutes.
Jason Terry had his best game of the season going for 20 points.
Utah 83 @ Washington 76
Derrick Favors moved into the starting lineup last night and produced 9 points, 10 reabounds and 3 blocks. If you want to make a trade offer, do it now.
Marvin Williams still got 27 minutes off the bench, but he’s borderline fantasy useful coming off the bench.
Randy Foye got the start over Gordon Hayward at shooting guard, but did nothing with it posting only 2 points and 3 turnovers. Hayward still got his minutes and 15 points and 5 assists.
Jordan Crawford got the start at shooting guard over Bradley Beal and it could be a permanent move. Crawford put up 20 points and 8 assists and will be a hot waiver wire claim. Keeper league owners have to hold Beal.
Jan Vesely got the start at power forward over Trevor Booker, but didn’t do much posting only 5 points and 5 rebounds. Vesely isn’t an add yet.
Memphis 94 @ Charlotte 87
Zach Randolph has been a daily fantasy game monster over on Fanduel with just a $6700 salary. He put up 18 points and 12 assists and I would expect that his salary will jump up next week.
Marc Gasol had 7 assists to go with 12 points and 9 rebounds. He’s been a great source of assists from the center position.
Mike Conley picked 4 more steals last night.
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist will be a huge fantasy assest once he learns to get his fouling under control. He had 5 fouls in 22 minutes, but still managed 12 points, 8 rebounds with a steal and a block.
Byron Mullens went 7-21, but only took 4 three pointers.
Kemba Walker is making a big leap in fantasy value this season and it might be wise to float a trade offer just to see if anyone might be looking to sell high. Walker got 42 minutes and he’s clearly in control of this team.
Dallas 103 @ Cleveland 95
Shawn Marion is back in the starting lineup and you should check to see if he got dropped to your wire when he was injured. He posted a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds Saturday.
Chris Kaman had 6 blocks.
Elton Brand only got 11 minutes and is looking like a drop to the wire.
Troy Murphy took 6 shots, all were three pointers. He could be worth a look if you need threes, especially from a non-traditional three point shooting position.
Kyrie Irving had 21 points, but no assists or rebounds. He also suffered a finger injury, so check it for his next start.
Anderson Varejao really burned me on Fanduel last night, only putting up 4 points and 7 rebounds against a weak Mavs interior.
Tyler Zeller is back in action after missing time with a concussion and facial fracture.
Daniel Gibson took 8 three pointers and could be a nice pickup if you need help in that category.
New Orleans 113 @ Milwaukee 117
Anthony Davis had a big game going for 28 points and 11 rebounds.
Greivis Vasquez had 13 points and 10 assists.
Austin Rivers looks completely lost and you have to wonder how long it’s going to be before Roger Mason takes that job.
Ryan Anderson went 4 of 9 from three.
Ersan Ilyasova has been one of the biggest fantasy disappointments this season and he didn’t do much to get it turned around going for 10 points and 5 rebounds. Give him another week or two, but things might not get much better with Luc Richard Mbah a Moute returning in the next month.
Larry Sanders with 5 fouls in 21 minutes. He’s capable of producing, but he’s got to get his fouling under control.
Brandon Jennings and Monta Ellis both with 22 points and 9 assists.
Denver 100 @ San Antonio 126
Ty Lawson is a in a real fantasy funk right now, just 13 points and 5 assists. He was a late first round, early second round pick in most leagues. Hang on to him and be patient.
JaVale McGee is showing signs of life and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him grab the starting job soon. If you want him, now might be the time to float a trade offer.
Andre Iguodala with a stinker, 9 points and 3 rebounds.
Stephen Jackson entered the starting lineup for Kawhi Leonard who is out for 7-10 days with an injury. Jackson had 9 points and 9 rebounds and makes a great pickup this week.
Dejuan Blair got a start, 19 points and 8 rebounds.
Tony Parker was in a bit of a slump for a few games and you have to wonder if he had some type of illness or injury going on because he has completely snapped out of it and looks to be bouncing back. 14 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds, 2 steals.
Chicago 80 @ LA Clippers 101
Carlos Boozer with a nice game, 22 points, 12 rebounds.
Kirk Hinrich with 10 assists. He’s on several waiver wires and could be a great source of assists if he can stay healthy.
Taj Gibson is such a tease. I’ve got him in a keeper league and just can’t bring myself to drop him since he should be the starter next season. It’s really a wasted bench spot right now.
Blake Griffin had one of his better games going for 26 points and 10 rebounds.
DeAndre Jordan had 7 blocks.
Jamal Crawford with 22 points in 27 minutes and is clearly in the lead for sixth man of the year.
Eric Bledsoe is looking really good this year and keeper league owners should grab him with a spare bench spot. If Chris Paul leaves next season, Bledsoe is your starter.
Miami 97 @ Phoenix 88
LeBron played through the flu and still had 21 points and 7 rebounds.
Chris Bosh had a very efficient 9 of 11 shooting for 24 points.
Dwyane Wade missed another game with his foot injury. Hopefully, he’ll only be out for another game or two.
Ray Allen didn’t get as many opportunities as I thought with Wade out, just 4 shot attempts.
Luis Scola is the most inconsistent player on all of Fanduel. He burned salary cap game owners last night with 3 points and 1 rebound with just 15 minutes of court time.
Shannon Brown really needs to be the starter over Jared Dudley. Check your wire and pick Brown up if you want to gamble.
Marcin Gortat is a horrible defender in real life, but he’s still putting up fantasy stats.
