Chicago Bulls fire Vinny Del Negro

You knew it was coming eventually. The Bulls finally decided that two seasons above .500 and a couple of trips to the playoffs just wasn’t enough justification for keeping Vinny Del Negro.
It’s a little unfair if you take a look at what he had to work with in 2009-2010. Derrick Rose was hurt for a good part of the season, Ben Gordon was traded in the offseason and Joakim Noah missed time with an injury. How many games do you expect Del Negro to win without those pieces playing on a consistent basis?
Now the search begins for a replacement. No word on a leading candidate, but it should be an interesting search.
