Earlier this week, I posted about the Kelly Criterion Calculator and how it should be a starting point when sizing your bets for daily fantasy contests at FantasySportsLive.com and Fanduel.com. Today I’m going to throw another idea out there for spreading your bets around and reducing variance in your bankroll: Playing on multiple sites.

Fantasy Basketball Daily News and Notes (9/29/10)

Training camps finally get going this week and real player news is finally starting to flow. Today’s fantasy news and notes:
Corey Maggette – He will likely miss the entire preseason as he recovers from offseason ankle surgery. He’s in a timeshare with Carlos Delfino and his only fantasy value is in the scoring category anyway.
Devin Harris – Harris had a bad relationship with Avery Johnson the first time around in Dallas and it doesn’t look like that relationship has gotten any better. Harris is already unhappy and if he’s not careful he could find himself losing a lot of minutes to Jordan Farmar.

Daily fantasy sports contests at sites such as FantasySportsLive.com are really starting to take off, but this isn’t your normal fantasy game. The contests are daily and they are for real money, which makes them a combination of fantasy sports and traditional sports betting. Even though the fantasy games are legal, it’s still gambling and you have to treat it as such. In order to survive for an entire season, bankroll management is an absolutely necessary skill. Fantasy Basketball Small Forward Training Camp Questions (9/27/10)

I’ve already covered the point guard questions and shooting guard questions, so now it’s time to move to the small forward position. Camps get going this week so hopefully we’ll start to get answers soon.
Kevin Durant – How can you not pick him number one overall? Will he show any fatigue from the FIBA World Championships? Will the Thunder rest him for the preseason?
LeBron James – What will his role be and will he get to play some point guard in this system? Who’s scoring gets cut, Wade or James? Can he handle the pressure when the inevitable boobirds come out in every road game?

Fantasy Basketball Daily News and Notes (9/25/10)

Tough game coming up today for my Crimson Tide at Arkansas. You know where I’ll be this afternoon. Rolllllll Tide!! I’m making my way through the Small Forwards this weekend and will post some notes on each player at the position on Monday.
Fanduel.com posted their first daily fantasy basketball cash games yesterday. Preseason live cash games start October 5th, so get over there and get signed up and start building your rosters and getting a feel for their software.
