Win a Trip to the ESPY’s Playing Fantasy Basketball!!

Profanity Sports is offering Fantasy Basketball Daily readers a chance to win a trip to ESPN’s ESPY Awards Show by doing what we love – playing fantasy basketball!  This is one of the most unique contests that I’ve seen any of the daily sites run yet, so you definitely want to take advantage of a FREE contest like this.   Profanity Sports held a similar contest during football season that was won by “Notorious” and sent him on a great trip to Vegas.   If you see Notorious hanging around the Profanity chatroom, ask him about the trip!

The first step is to GET REGISTERED FOR FREE AT PROFANITY SPORTS BY CLICKING HERE!    The Contest will begin on February 28th, which is the Tuesday after the All-Star break, and will run through April 15th.  Here’s what we are playing for:

The Prize:
Two Round Trip Flights to Los Angeles
Complimentary One Bedroom Suite
Two Passes to the 2012 ESPYs on July 11th
Private Transportation To and From the Los Angeles Airport
$500 Spending Cash

During the seven week contest there will be 30 opportunities to win your entry to the Grand Prize Contest.  Each week during the contest there will be 3 winners (21 Total), including one winner for each of these three categories:

  1. Highest NBA Daily Game Score eacb week (Monday-Sunday)
  2. Most NBA Cash Earnings each week (can come from Daily, Multi-Day or Survivor NBA games (Monday-Sunday)
  3. Winner of the 4 Day GPP Featured Game each week

In addition to those 21 winners, there will be 9 additional winners that will gain entry to the Grand Prize Contest by capturing one of the top three spots in each of the three Large Field Survivor Contests that Profanity will run during the seven week contest.

Once the 30 Grand Prize Contest Participants have been determined, the Grand Prize Contest will be held April 16 – 18 in two parts:

  1. Monday April 16 – First Round of Final Tourney: One Day contest where the top half of the field advances
  2. Wednesday April 18 – One Day Grand Prize Game – Highest Score in this Daily Salary Cap Game wins a trip to the ESPY’s (other Top-5 finishers win cash prizes!)

As you can see, this is a great contest with tons of ways to win, but the only way to win is to GET REGISTERED FOR FREE AT PROFANITY SPORTS and start playing!!  If you guys have questions about any of the game details, the customer support at Profanity Sports is excellent and can provide you with anything that you want to know about the contest or the site in general.   Good luck in this great Profanity contest!

All-Star Week Posting Schedule

We’re going on three months of daily posting on fantasy basketball and honestly guys I need a little bit of a break.  I can feel myself getting burned out and in need of a battery recharge.

I’ve decided to take this entire week off, as well as the all-star break itself.  I’ll be back fully energized next Tuesday, February 28th for the second half of the season!  I hope you guys have a great week and enjoy the all-star game festivities!  See you next week.

Friday’s NBA Schedule, Probable Starting Lineups, Lines, Injuries and Tournament Picks

Charlotte @ Toronto (-7)   183.5 Total
CHA:  K. Walker, R. Williams, C. Maggette, B. Diaw, B. Biyombo
TOR:  J. Calderon, D. DeRozan, J. Johnson, A. Johnson, A. Gray

  • DJ Augustin is slowly working himself back into game shape after missing time with a foot injury.  He should be back to full speed just after the all-star break.  It will be interesting to see how the Bobcats divide the minutes now between Augustin and Kemba Walker.
  • Jerryd Bayless is probable, but I’d avoid him until the ankle injury heals completely.
  • Linas Kleiza is out.
  • Daily Fantasy Tournament Value Pick:  Kemba Walker

Milwaukee @ Orlando (-7.5)    192 Total
MIL:  B. Jennings, S. Livingston, C. Delfino, E. Ilyasova, J. Leuer
ORL:  J. Nelson, J. Richardson, H. Turkoglu, R. Anderson, D. Howard

  • Drew Gooden is out.  John Leuer will get the start.
  • Dwight Howard should have a huge game with Gooden out.
  • Jameer Nelson is playing well after missing a few games and I’ve seen him floating around on several waiver wires.  He should probably be grabbed if you need assists.
  • Stephen Jackson remains a huge daily risk.  Just when you think he’s back getting a steady 3o minutes a night, he ends up stuck to the bench.  Just hold him and hope for a trade.
  • Ersan Ilyasova is getting a rare start, but he matchup isn’t very good.
  • Daily Fantasy Tournament Value Pick:  Dwight Howard

Sacramento @ Detroit (-3.5)   190.5 Total
SAC:  T. Evans, M. Thornton, J. Salmons, J. Thompson, JJ Hickson
DET:  B. Knight, R. Stuckey, T. Prince, G. Monroe, J. Maxiell

  • Rodney Stuckey has really been heating up lately and should be played in daily games since his salary has dipped due to his mediocre early season.
  • Stuckey breaking out isn’t going to help the fantasy value of Brandon Knight.  He’s slumping right now and you have to wonder if it’s the old rookie wall.
  • DeMarcus Cousins is out.   JJ Hickson should pickup the start.  Chuck Hayes will have to put in some extra minutes also.
  • Daily Fantasy Tournament Value Picks:  Greg Monroe, Rodney Stuckey

Miami (-9.5) @ Cleveland   199 Total
MIA:  N. Cole, D. Wade, L. James, C. Bosh, J. Anthony
CLE:  K. Irving, A. Gee, O. Casspi, A. Jamison, S. Erden

  • Anderson Varejao is out 4-6 weeks with a wrist injury.  Semih Erden will start and Tristan Thompson will also see an increase in minutes.   Neither player is very attractive in daily games right now.
  • Mario Chalmers made it through practice Thursday and is probable.  Norris Cole would get the start if Chalmers can’t go.
  • Kyrie Irving is looking good in his return from a concussion and looks safe to use again in daily games.
  • Anthony Parker is out.  Alonzo Gee should get the start.
  • Daniel Gibson is doubtful.
  • Daily Fantasy Tournament Value Pick:  Kyrie Irving
  • Daily Fantasy Tournament Sleeper Pick:  Semih Erden

Dallas @ Philadelphia (-3)   179.5 Total
DAL:  J. Kidd, V. Carter, S. Marion, D. Nowitzki, B. Haywood
PHI:  J. Holiday, J. Meeks, A. Iguodala, E. Brand, N. Vucevic

  • Delonte West is out until mid-March with a finger injury.  Jason Terry and Vince  Carter will have to pick up the slack.
  • Jason Terry is out Friday.
  • Roddy Beaubois is out.
  • Spencer Hawes is out.
  • Daily Fantasy Tournament Value Pick:   Vince Carter
