Fantasy Basketball Daily Boxscore Review (10/28/09)
Oct 28, 2009 Blog
4 games last night in the NBA and I’ve got the fantasy breakdown of the boxscores below. Arenas and Garnett both looked good in their return, although it seems like Garnett has lost quite a bit off his leaping ability. Moon burned him badly on an alley-oop. On to the fantasy boxscores:
Bos 95 @ Cle 89 Poss: 92 Bos ORtg: 103.3 Cle ORtg: 96.7
Bos: 50.7 eFG% OReb% 18.8 DReb% 84.2 TO% 17.4 FTR 30.6
Cle: 45.7 eFG% Oreb% 15.8 DReb% 81.2 TO% 15.2 FTR 35.7
Boston still has that top defense working and that was the difference. Cleveland was held to 45.7% eFG% and was outrebounded on the offensive and defensive ends.
CLE Fantasy Notes: LeBron played 45 minutes, 38 points, 8 assists but only 4 rebounds…Shaq got 29 minutes which should be his average this season, 10 pts/10reb…Only 3 ast for Mo Williams in 35 min…Varejao with a solid 33 min, 9pt/7reb/2stl/1blk…Anthony Parker is the SG of choice with 40 min.
Bos Fantasy Notes: Garnett got 33 minutes and looked solid putting up 13/10 with 3 blk…Rondo 10 ast/3stl, only 8 pts…Pierce 23pt/11reb…Ray Allen game high 42 min, 16pt/3stl… Wallace three 3’s/2blk.
WSH 102 @ DAL 91 Poss:92 WSH ORtg: 110.8 DAL ORtg: 98.9
WSH: 48.8 eFG% OReb% 22.5 DReb% 77.1 TO% 10.9 FTR 23.8
DAL: 42.1 eFG% Oreb% 23.9 DReb% 77.5 TO% 10.9 FTR 35.5
WSH Fantasy Notes: Arenas was great in his return, 29pts/9ast and best of all he got 38 minutes without a problem…Andray Blatche eased the Jamison loss going 20pt/7reb/1stl/2blk…Butler didn’t shoot well, 6 for 17…Randy Foye got 30 minutes, 19pts/2stl…29 PF for WSH which contributed to the high DAL Free Throw Rate.
DAL Fantasy Notes: Nowitzki 34pts/9reb/2blk…Terry 4 0f 15, 1 for 6 from three point range…Marion 16pt/7reb/3blk…JJBarea looked very good backing up Kidd and should get minutes if he can keep it up as it will allow Dallas to keep the aging Kidd fresh…DAL 4 of 18 from three point range…J. Howard DNP injury.
HOU 87 @ POR 96 Poss: 99 Hou ORtg: 87.9 Por ORtg: 97.0
HOU: 40.1 eFG% OReb% 20.4 DReb% 65.7 TO% 16.2 FTR 27.2
POR: 49.4 eFG% OReb% 34.3 DReb% 79.6 TO% 26.3 FTR 26.0
Wow, Houston looked really bad and the only reason this game was even close was because of the 26 turnovers by Portland. Houston an exploitable rebounding problem. The 34.3 offensive rebounding percentage by Portland is just way too high. Houston misses Ming for sure. Shooting also seems to be a problem for Houston with a pathetic 40.1 eFG% and only 5 of 18 from three.
HOU Fantasy Notes: Ariza was terrible,12pt/3reb/2ast/4tov … Brooks looks like the best fantasy option on the team, 42 min 19pt/5ast/2stl … Carl Landry 3 of 12…David Andersen only 19 minutes but 11 points… Scola still seems hurt 3pt/4reb.
POR Fantasy Notes: Roy didn’t shoot well going 5-18 but did manage 20pt/5reb/5st/1stl/1blk…Aldridge started the first quarter with 7 points but got in foul trouble and finished the game with 11 points…Oden did nothing on offense with only 2 points and 7 turnovers but had 12 rebs and 5 blks to salvage his fantasy night…Outlaw got 33 minutes in place of injured Batum and produced 23 points.
LAC 92 @ LAL 99 Poss: 99 LAC ORtg: 92.9 LAL ORtg: 100.0
LAC: 46.6 eFG% OReb% 33.3 DReb% 67.9 TO% 20.2 FTR 12.6
LAL: 43.5 eFG% Oreb% 32.1 DReb% 66.7 TO% 16.2 FTR 29.4
LAC Fantasy Notes: Kaman was a stud with the extra minutes 18pts/16reb …Gordon shot well going 7-14, 21 pts…Baron Davis was horrible and blamed his foot injury, 1-10 for 2pts with 8 ast…Craig Smith did a nice job filling in for Blake Griffin putting up 12 pts/5reb…R. Butler was invisible for 29 minutes with 6pts/2reb and 4 tov…Camby was efficient getting 14pts/6reb in 21 min.
