Fantasy Basketball Daily News (1/12/10)

I recently ran across a cash game fantasy site that offers a little different take on regular fantasy games.   The site is FantasyPlanet.com and the game is called ‘The Big Ticket”.  It’s basically a parlay card type game where you select the highest scoring player from 6  or  10 groups and the payout is based on an odds table.  It’s an interesting concept that I haven’t seen offered anywhere else.  Give it a look.  Five games on the fantasy schedule for Tuesday.

Fantasy Basketball Player News and Notes:

  • Anthony Randolph is done for at least two months, and possibly for the season.  Just drop him since you only get about a month of Randolph even if he returns in two months, and given the way Nelson uses him, you probably won’t be missing much.  Vlad Radmanovic could be a nice pickup if you need a forward.
  • Carmelo Anthony returned after missing five games with a knee bruise and was able to go 34 minutes.  Get him back active.
  • Ronnie Turiaf suffered an ankle injury last night.  He would have been in line for more minutes with Randolph out.  Check his status before the next game.
  • Rasheed Wallace missed Monday with a sore foot and could be out for aweek.  Kevin Garnett is still 10 days away from returning so it looks like Glen Davis and Brian Scalabrine will get minutes, which can’t be something the Celtics wanted to see.
  • Tayshaun Prince missed Monday with a sore left knee.  Jonas Jerebko got the start.
  • Dwyane Wade sprained his right wrist Monday, but returned and played through the injury.  Keep an eye on it for his next start.
  • Ben Gordon only got six minutes before aggravating his thigh problem.   He’s questionable for Tuesday.
  • Tyler Hansbrough returned Monday for Indiana.
  • Vince Carter is likely out Tuesday with a mildly separated shoulder.   J.J. Redick should get the start.
  • Caron Butler is attending to a family member who was in an accident, but should play Tuesday.  Check his gametime status.
