Fantasy Basketball Daily News and Notes (10/11/10)

Samuel Dalembert – He’s starting to slip in my rankings.  Sacramento just has too many bigs and Dalembert could find himself losing minutes this season to DeMarcus Cousins and Jason Thompson.  And we know what happens with Dalembert’s fragile attitude when things don’t go his way.  The market for centers is really thin and I think the Kings could capitalize on this by trading Dalembert for more young talent, maybe a good young point guard.   Put that new PG on the floor with Reke, Cousins, Thompson, Landry, Whiteside and just let them start building chemistry for the future.  What’s the worst that could happen, another lottery pick?

Dorell Wright – He turned in another good game with 13pt/4reb/4ast.  He’s going to be a solid middle round value pick.

Stephen Curry/Monta Ellis – No way these two see as many minutes per game as they did last season.

Yao Ming – He sat out the second game of a back to back.  Be aware that this could happen a lot this season.

J.J. Hickson – Monster game last night from Hickson.  I just don’t see how the Cavs can let this guy rot on the bench, he’s got to be your 35 minute starter at PF.

Kyle Korver – I read something this weekend comparing Korver and Ray Allen.  Thibideau seems to be trying to implement the same looks for Korver that Allen got while Thibs was in Boston.  Korver could be a really nice pick this year.

Marcus Thornton – Monty Williams is really destroying his confidence.  Thornton went 2-12 Saturday and 2-13 last night and he’s got to be feeling down after expecting to be the starter only to see Williams go with Belinelli.  See if he can bounce back.

Lamar Odom – He will start at PF while Bynum is out, which could be awhile.

Steven Hill – The Geico Caveman returns to the NBA with Portland.  He’s not fantasy relevant, but it’s fun to watch him play.  One of those guys you just cheer for because he has fun playing the game.

Chris Paul/Deron Williams – I’m still going with Williams over Paul this season for the number one PG spot.  There still seems to be a lot of problems with the ownership of this team and I think Paul has a complete meltdown at some point this season when things don’t go well for the Hornets.  Paul has his sights set on a big three of his own, and it isn’t going to be in New Orleans.

Andrew Bogut – Bogut admits that he probalby won’t be 100% this year.  Not good news for fantasy owners.  Keep an eye on his offensive production in camp to see if his elbow and hand injuries limit him on that side of the ball.
