Fantasy Basketball Daily News and Notes (10/29/10)

Here’s a new one for the iPod that I must have already listened to about 20 times this morning:     Lupe Fiasco, The Show Goes On.   Have a good weekend.

Al Horford (ATL) – You think Horford was trying to send a message to the Hawks in his contract negotiations with his Wednesday performance?  He clearly looked like he just didn’t care.  I’d be a little concerned with Horford if he doesn’t get his contract extension.

Josh Smith (ATL) – For some reason, he has decided to start launching long jumpers.  If he continues to do this, his field goal percentage will plummet.

Washington Wizards – They are horrible.  I caught the second quarter and didn’t come back for the second half.   Not only were they bad, they just didn’t care enough to even put forward any effort.  Line of the night though has to go to Charles Barkley for referring to them as the Washington Generals.  I see another lottery pick in their future, as well as endless headaches with Gilbert Arenas.

Hakim Warrick (PHO) – He looked good running the pick and roll with Nash.  See if he’s still on your waiver wire.

Hedo Turkoglu (PHO) – I think it’s pretty safe to cut him if you find a better option.  It looks like a repeat of his Toronto disaster.

Andray Blatche (WAS) – He’s another guy who needs to stop shooting the jumpers and start taking it to the basket.  He had Dwight Howard to contend with last night, so maybe his shot selection was last night was just a one time deal.

Yi Jianlian (WAS) – Every year we hear how Yi has improved his game, but he looked like the same old Yi to me.  He’s still waiver wire material.

Vince Carter (ORL) – His preseason focus seems to be carrying over to the regular season.  He could be a draft day steal this season.

J.J. Redick (ORL) – He’s looking like a fantasy disappointment this year, especially if he continues to hover around the 20 minute mark.  He made some really bad plays Thursday.

Steve Nash (PHO) – 5 more turnovers.  Get used to it.

Mo Williams (CLE) – He’s still nursing a groin injury and might miss Friday.  Ramon Sessions will likely get good minutes.

Erick Dampier (FA) – Rumor has him going to Houston.  The Rockets must not be happy with Brad Miller backing up Yao.

Jason Williams (ORL) – Good to see him back on the court.  If your league counts ejections, he had a big night, congrats.

Reggie Evans (TOR) – If you need a cheap source of rebounds, check your wire to see if Evans is still floating around.  Someone in Toronto has to rebound and Bargnani sure isn’t going to do it.
