Fantasy Basketball Daily News and Notes (10/9/10)

It’s another Saturday of Crimson Tide Football and another top ranked SEC opponent, at #19 South Carolina.    Rollll Tide!   I managed to hit 2 of 3 H2H games on Fanduel.com last night, but Brandon Roy’s DNP really cost me in that one loss.   Some quick Saturday morning fantasy basketball notes:

Nene – He got 20 minutes of action last night and it was good to seem him back on the court after some summer injury problems.  He should have a solid year in Denver.

Vince Carter – He’s looking like he has something to prove this year.  While it’s still just preseason, it’s encouraging to see some effort from Carter.  He might be solid value if you can get him in the right spot.

Dorell Wright – Wright was my player to watch in yesterday’s notes and he had a great game for GSW last night, 16pts/6reb/4ast/1stl/1blk.  He could be a great sleeper this season.

Marvin Williams – Williams seems to like the new offensive scheme being put in by Larry Drew.  He’s usually borderline waiver wire material , but this year I think he might provide solid value.

Roddy Beaubois – There’s a chance that he returns soon from his foot injury and he could land in the starting SG spot for Dallas.  This would shift Caron Butler back to SF and Shawn Marion to the bench.  Jason Terry, JJ Barea, Shawn Marion and Tyson Chandler all coming off the bench is pretty strong for the Mavs.

Trevor Ariza – Ariza is tonight’s player to watch.  I’m interested to see what role New Orleans has planned for him.  He should draw the start at SF and it will be interesting to see how he works with Chris Paul and how involved Monty Williams chooses to make him in the offense.

Injuries – Last night’s games saw Al Harrington suffer a minor foot injury and Josh McRoberts with a neck injury.  Neither appear to be serious.
