Fantasy Basketball Daily News and Notes (11/17/10)
Nov 17, 2010 Blog
Daily Cash Games – Horrible night on Tuesday going 1-3 on Fanduel.com and 0-3 on FantasySportsLive.com. One of those nights where every close game goes the wrong way. The only thing I managed to win was the second game of a 7 game $100 series match against HeadChopper over on Fanduel.com to take a 2-0 lead in that fantasy contest.
Pop a Shot Basketball – This woman plays the perfect game. Obviously, she doesn’t have a few beers before trying this like the rest of us.
Areka – Daily Distraction Girl from HoopedUpOnline.com.
Evan Turner (PHI) – He should keep starting with Andre Iguodala out and could remain in the starting lineup with a good showing even after Iguodala returns. 16pts/9reb.
J.J. Hickson (CLE) – Hickson is now becoming a fantasy headache, especially in daily cash games. He only got 19 minutes of run on Tuesday, putting up 8pts/2reb. The presence of Antawn Jamison is really hurting his fantasy value and Hickson’s attitude isn’t helping him much either. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Jamison move back into the starting lineup and Hickson to the bench.
Ramon Sessions (CLE) – Sessions got the start with Mo Williams out, but Daniel Gibson is the guy fantasy owners want to use for Cleveland.
T.J. Ford (IND) – Got the start for injured Darren Collison, 6pt/5ast.
Sonny Weems (TOR) – He continues to start over Linas Kleiza, but this could change once Kleiza gets back healthy. Good line from Weems, 16 points on 7 of 13 shooting.
Kirk Hinrich (WAS) – Hinrich was a sneaky play Tuesday in daily cash games with John Wall sidelined. 13pts/12ast. Continue to use Hinrich with Wall out.
Nick Young (WAS) – Young got 30 minutes Tuesday with the Wizards being down a guard. 20pts/6reb.
Shannon Brown (LAL) – It’s too bad he’s stuck behind Kobe Bryant, because he can play and would be a fantasy asset anywhere else in the league. He scored 21 points in 21 minutes Tuesday.
Drew Gooden (MIL) – Continues to turn it on, 22pt/13reb. Maybe his slow start was injury related and undisclosed, but he seems to be good to go now.
Wesley Matthews (POR) – It looks like Matthews is getting first shot at taking over for Brandon Roy. 30 points Tuesday and he should be picked up in all leagues.
Andre Miller (POR) – Miller’s lines should get better with Roy out. 19pts/9ast/5stl Tuesday.
Derrick Rose (CHI) – 4 of 5 from three, with 3 steals. Nice.
Ronnie Brewer (CHI) – He’s finally looking healthy and this may be your last chance to grab him before he has a breakout game.
Brad Miller (HOU) – Miller seems to be the choice to start when Ming is out. 21 point game Tuesday and he’s a good pickup if you need some depth at center.
Danilo Gallinari (NYK) – Gallinari with a much needed good game, 21pt/10reb.
Landry Fields (NYK) – Looking more and more like the real deal. 21pt/17reb. 17 rebounds from the shooting guard spot will definitely help your rebounding category.
Al Harrington (DEN) – He’s starting to get his offensive game going, 22 points in 21 minutes Tuesday.
Gary Forbes (DEN) – Trying to make a name for himself, 19pt/9reb in 23 minutes.
Ronny Turiaf (NYK) – Returned from a sore knee but suffered a dislocated finger last night. The cameraman did a great job catching it. Those injuries are really scary looking until the trainer just pulls it back in place. Still gross though and I’m sure it didn’t feel all that great either.
Marcus Camby (POR) – Camby suffered some type of ankle injury. Not sure how serious it is, but check his next gametime status before starting him.
Andray Blatche (WAS) – Blatche is supposedly suffering through a knee injury, but you wouldn’t know it by looking at his stats. Keep starting him.
Earl Barron (PHO) – He’s been signed to take over Robin Lopez’ spot. Keep an eye on him and be ready to grab him off the wire if he gets steady minutes.
