Fantasy Basketball Daily News and Notes (11/30/11)
Nov 30, 2011 Blog
Been reading some crazy stuff today. Reporters and bloggers are just making up outrageous rumors because they haven’t had anything to write about for 5 months. And what’s with all the 2012 free agency talk? We haven’t even had free agency 2011 yet. Only ten more days of wacky trade and free agent rumors until there is any real news.
Top 5 teams with the best Vegas odds of winning the championship: Miami (9/4), Lakers (5/1), Bulls (7/1), Thunder (15/2) and the Mavericks (17/2). My longshot pick: Orlando at 22/1. The Clippers also make a great bet at 50/1 if they land a big free agent like Dwight Howard. A C-Note on the Clippers at 50/1 with Howard, yeah I’d do that bet.
The NBA is going to have 5 games on Christmas day. I’ll probably be visiting relatives. Why do they do this to me?
Kyle Singler (DET) – You can cross Kyle Singler off your double secret sleeper list, he’s staying in Spain. The money in Spain is a lot better than the rookie pay scale in Detroit.
Jonas Jerebko (FA-DET) – Jerebko says the achilles injury is healed and he’s ready to make an impact for the Pistons. Detroit will have to clear out a few players for Jerebko to realistically be a draftable fantasy asset.
Adam Morrison (FA) – The ‘Stache is headed back to the NBA. Waiver wire material.
Jerome Jordan (NYK) – Chris Sheridan was really talking Jordan up and says he might have a shot at making an impact with the Knicks this season as a rookie. Kind of hard to believe, but keep an eye on Jordan, he’d definitely qualify as a sleeper.
Aaron Afflalo (FA-DEN) – If Afflalo is re-signed by the Nuggets he could be a great later round fantasy sleeper this season. Wilson Chandler, JR Smith and Kenyon Martin might not return and Nene is probably on his way out also which leaves a huge hole in the offense for Afflalo to fill.
