Fantasy Basketball Daily News and Notes (11/4/10)

Daily Cash Games – I went 7-4 on Fanduel.com last night scoring 298 in all my games.   There were some big performances Wednesday with one of my opponents putting up a 320 costing me 2 losses.  I split 3-3 on FantasySportsLive.com Wednesday and went 1-0 on DraftZone.com.

Quote of the Day:  Dime Magazine, “Pierce took over in the extra frame, but with four seconds left, the Bucks still had a chance, down three with the ball. Delfino made the worst pass possible in that situation, going for the home run to half-court that Marquis Daniels intercepted. Even Brett Favre was shaking his head at that one.”

PMSports.comWhy NBA Games get cancelled.

Austin Daye/Charlie Villanueva (DET) – Daye fell a step behind Villanueva in the Pistons PF battle on Wednesday.  Daye (6pts/4reb in 24 minutes) vs. Villanueva (14pts/4reb in 36 minutes).

Boris Diaw/Tyrus Thomas (CHA) – Thomas has seen his minutes fall to 21, 21 and 17 over the last three games.  Diaw has played 33, 25 and 40 and is clearly the favorite at PF for the Bobcats right now.

Troy Murphy (NJN) – Murphy finally made it back to the court on Wednesday, logging 18 minutes and putting up 2 pts/2reb.   It’s going to take some time for him to get back in the flow, so be patient.

Devin Harris (NJN) – He’s looking much better this season, but he really needs to scrap that three point shot and start taking it to the basket.  If he keeps shooting from outside, his poor shooting percentage is going to hurt fantasy owners.

Derrick Favors (NJN) – Another 11pt/8reb line.  Murphy is back, but Favors could be helping his own trade value and could probably be starting for some NBA teams.

Darko Milicic (MIN) – 18 minutes, 0 points, 4 rebounds.  Why was this guy signed to multiyear deal again?  Oh yeah, it’s Minnesota, the same team that only wants to play Kevin Love 26 minutes a game.

Dwight Howard (ORL) – 24 minutes against the Minnesota TWolves = 18pts/16reb/8blk.  Not only does Milicic score zero, he plays some great defense too.

Rashard Lewis/Ryan Anderson – Rashard Lewis got moved to SF and Anderson got the start at PF.  Not sure how often this is going to happen, but keep an eye on it and put Anderson on your waiver wire watchlist.  Anderson can get you some threes from the PF spot, as he went 4 of 8 from beyond the arc Wednesday.

Josh McRoberts/Tyler Hansbrough (IND) – Has anyone ever actually seen these two guys in the same room at the same time?  Interchangeable pieces.

Elton Brand (PHI) – This is the Elton Brand from a few years ago.  Not sure what has changed, but congrats if you took a chance on him this season.

Andrew Bogut (MIL) – He’s slowly rounding into form, 21pts/13 reb against a tough Boston club.  It might be a good idea to make an offer to try and acquire Bogut from a nervous owner.

Rajon Rondo (BOS) – At this pace, he’ll win the assists roto category for you by the all-star break, leaving you with a very valuable trade chip to use to strengthen other categories.

Jason Smith (NOR) – He’s getting minutes and producing for the Hornets.  He’s worth a look in deeper leagues.

Tyson Chandler/Brendan Haywood (DAL) – Chandler is starting and got more minutes than Haywood Wednesday (29 to 16).   Both guys are still low end fantasy centers.

Nene (DEN) – Missed Wednesday with a groin injury.

Sonny Weems (TOR) – Nice game Wednesday going for 23 points on only 13 shots.  Put him on your watchlist in keeper leagues, but know that he’s stuck behind several wing players.

C.J. Miles/Andrei Kirilenko (UTA) – Kirilenko is still starting, but this has turned into an equal timeshare.  Miles is worth a pickup in deeper leagues.

Richard Jefferson (SAS) – He’s really turned it around this season and put up a solid 28 points on Wednesday.  Check your wire to make sure he’s not still out there.

Hedo Turkoglu (PHO) – Another gem from Turk, 17 minutes, 6pts/2reb.  Go ahead and cut him loose.

Rodney Carney (GSW) – Carney got the start last night for Stephen Curry but didn’t do much with it, putting up only 7pts/2reb in 20 minutes.

Kevin Durant (OKC) – 6 of 24 last night.  Ouch.

Eric Bledsoe (LAC) – He got the start for Baron Davis and had a nice line of  17pts/4reb/8ast with only 3 turnovers.  Who needs Baron Davis?  Trade him and let the rookies develop some chemistry.

Kobe Bryant (LAL ) – Triple Double:  30pts/10reb/12ast.  Looking healthier every game.
