Fantasy Basketball Daily News and Notes (11/6/10)
Nov 6, 2010 Blog
Drew Gooden (MIL) – Looks like a fantasy bust this year. If you took a flier on him in the later rounds, it’s probably safe to cut him if there’s anyone else you like. Gooden has played less than 20 minutes in 5 of his 6 games this season.
John Salmons (MIL) – He is starting to reward patient fantasy owners. 40 minutes of action Friday, 22pts/5reb/5ast.
Roy Hibbert (IND) – 14pts/12reb/4ast/6blk Friday. He’s a Top 5 center.
Troy Murphy (NJN) – He’s working his minutes up and managed to log 28 of them Friday. Be patient, he’ll be at 33-35 minutes within the next couple weeks and producing solid stats.
Ryan Anderson (ORL) – Got the start again, but only played 7 minutes. I’d leave him on the wire until this situation clears up a bit.
Mo Williams (CLE) – It didn’t take him long to get going, 30 minutes, 22pts/7ast/3stl. Get him in your starting lineup.
Andres Nocioni (PHI) – He’s worth a look if he’s still on your wire. Collins seems to like him and he’s started the last few games. 30 minutes last night, 15pts/4reb/2stl.
Lou Williams (PHI) – Settled in nicely as Philly’s 6th man. Instant offense off the bench, so grab him if you need points.
Gerald Wallace (CHA) – The ankle may be bothering him, as he had a pretty disappointing line Friday. Watch him for the next few games.
Stephen Jackson (CHA) – While Wallace is hurting, Jackson seems to be healing. Great game Friday with 28 points on 19 shots.
Derrick Brown (CHA) – Give Brown a look if you are in a deep keeper league. He’s getting some run and put up 9pts/7reb/4ast in 29 minutes Friday.
Rodney Stuckey (DET) – He’s deep in the doghouse. DNP-CD Friday.
Andray Blatche (WAS) – He’s slowly working himself back into shape. Now is your chance to make a move for him, if you wait much longer he’ll have a huge game and you’ll never be able to deal for him.
John Wall (WAS) – The return of Gilbert Arenas really put a cramp in Wall’s stats and opportunity. Washington is really screwing up Wall’s development if they let Arenas take the ball out of his hands.
Toney Douglas (NYK) – He should be starting at SG soon with Landry Fields moving to the bench. I went to grab Douglas last night and my buddy Cameron beat me to him by 3 minutes. Nice work Cameron.
Jermaine O’Neal (BOS) – 19 minutes, 0 rebounds. He’s still hurting, get him benched if you have other options.
Glen Davis (BOS) – 37 minutes of action Friday. Grab him off the wire if you can.
Emeka Okafor (NOR) – Not sure why he got off to such a slow start, but he has really turned it on and looks like a great fantasy play this season. 26 points, 13 rebounds against a tough Miami defense Friday. Might be a good idea to make a play for him if there’s an unhappy Okafor owner in your league.
Jason Smith (NOR) – Another nice game, 12pts/6reb. Worth a gamble in very deep leagues.
Jamal Crawford (ATL) – His toe looks to be healed. He managed 32 minutes Friday putting up 22 points on 14 shots.
Wesley Johnson (MIN) – He’s moved into the starting rotation and should be there for good. Check your wire.
Michael Beasley (MIN) – Returned from a hip injury after missing one game and looks healthy. Keep starting him.
Kevin Love (MIN) – Limited again to only 27 minutes. Unbelievable.
Zach Randolph (MEM) – Returned after missing several games with a lower back bruise. He looked a little rusty on offense but grabbed 14 rebounds. Get him in your starting lineup.
Darrel Arthur (MEM) – Even with Randolph returning, Arthur got some decent run. He may have earned himself minutes going forward.
Eric Bledsoe (LAC) – Grab him in keeper leagues. Baron could easily be gone next season or even later this season. Bledsoe got completely overlooked in the draft due to being John Wall’s backup.
Clippers/Warriors – Was this the bizarro game of the night or what? 85-78.
Stephen Curry (GSW) – Returned from an ankle injury and looked good in 30 minutes of run. Get him back in your starting lineup.
