Fantasy Basketball Daily News and Notes (1/17/11)

Big day of NBA action on Monday with 13 games.  The first game tips off at 1:00 EST, so be sure to get your daily cash game rosters in early at Fanduel.com and FantasySportsLive.com.

Andrew Bynum (LAL) – He’s been a great cheap daily cash game play lately and he continued to produce last night, 18pts/13reb.  He picked up another technical foul Sunday.

Kobe Bryant (LAL) – Solid line, 27pts/9reb/5ast on 8-17 shooting.  His only weak spot was from three point range where he went 1-7.

Blake Griffin (LAC) – The Lakers couldn’t really stop him, 18pts/15reb.

DeAndre Jordan (LAC) – The Clippers insist that they aren’t going to trade Chris Kaman, but if they do, be ready to grab Jordan.  He put up a nice 8pts/15reb/2blk line against a tough Laker team.

Eric Gordon (LAC) – Great game shooting the ball, 13 of 20 for 30 points.

Lakers/Clippers – Lamar Odom, Blake Griffin, Baron Davis and Ron Artest all got ejected from Sunday’s game.  Luckily for fantasy owners, it was in the fourth quarter with only 5.7 seconds left to play.   Kind of a ridiculous move by the refs so late in the game, especially if the players catch fines for the ejections.

Carmelo Anthony (DEN) – The trade talk is definitely a distraction and I think I’m avoiding Melo in daily cash games until the whole situation gets settled, 5-17 for only 12 points Sunday.

Chauncey Billups (DEN) – The Nuggets are finally getting Billups some much needed rest.  He’s played 26, 27, 26 and 27 minutes in his last four, although three of those were huge blowouts.  Ty Lawson is more than capable of taking over for Billups.

Tony Parker (SAS) – 11-13 for 30 points.

Gary Neal (SAS) – Neal is a pretty good player, but he’s not going to be fantasy worthy on the Spurs unless there is an injury or two, 14 points on 5 of 10 shooting.

Carlos Boozer (CHI) – Out today, Taj Gibson will get the start.

Brandon Roy (POR) – Will undergo surgery today on both knees.  There should be a report on the actual damage in his knees after the surgery is complete.

Kendrick Perkins (BOS) – He’s back at full contact practice and should return in the next couple of weeks.  Check your wire to see if he was forgotten in your league.

Danilo Gallinari (NYK) – Could return today against the Suns.

Andres Nocioni (PHI) – Tried to play through a broken finger, but the Sixers are going to sit him for awhile.  Look for Thaddeus Young to pick up some extra minutes.
