Fantasy Basketball Daily News and Notes (11/9/10)
Nov 9, 2010 Blog
Daily Cash Games – I had a surprising 12-0 night on Fanduel.com and now have 43 wins this month. FantasySportsLive.com was also pretty good last night with a 5-2 record and DraftZone.com was a 1-0 night. My win total at Fantasy Sports Live stands at 788, good for 16th place all time on the site.
New for the iPod – More Lupe Fiasco: Lupe Fiasco, S.L.R.
John Wall (WAS) – Wall’s new model girlfriend.
Jason Collins (ATL) – Collins got the start over Zaza Pachulia Monday against Dwight Howard. This was probably just a one time deal due to Collins matching up a little better size with Howard. No fantasy value for Collins.
Ryan Anderson (ORL) – He got another start, but only 15 total minutes of action. He’s probably best left on the wire given his unpredictability.
Vince Carter (ORL) – The hip looked fine after a fall over the weekend. Carter played 26 minutes, putting up 19 points and he continues to have a good season.
Chris Duhon (ORL) – Showed why he’s no longer a starter, 25 minutes, 4pts/4ast.
Stephen Curry (GSW) – His ankle looked fully recovered. He played 36 minutes, scoring a game high 34 points. Start him with confidence.
Monta Ellis (GSW) – Took a hard fall last night, but had a solid game before leaving. Check his next gametime status.
Reggie Williams (GSW) – He’s been a fantasy bust for all the guys who took a late round flier on him. Hold him for another week and then it’s probably time to look elsewhere.
Reggie Evans (TOR) – Losing fantasy value with every game. 0 points, 6 rebounds against a Golden State.
Amir Johnson (TOR) – If Evans continues to struggle, Johnson could see his role grow. You might want to grab him off the wire and hold him for a couple of weeks to see what develops.
Tiago Splitter/DeJuan Blair (SAS) – The center spot for San Antonio is weak and neither of these guys is worth owning outside of keeper leagues.
Gary Neal (SAS) – Neal is actually getting some run for San Antonio and has looked pretty good. He isn’t fantasy relevant yet, but just remember he’s there if injuries hit the Spurs.
Gerald Wallace (CHA) – Absolutely no consistency this season, which makes him a very risky play in daily cash games.
Shelden Williams (DEN) – Much like Reggie Evans, he’s losing value quickly.
Nene (DEN) – Was able to play through a groin injury after missing a couple of games. He missed a lot of the fourth quarter, so give him one more to get completely healthy and then get him plugged back into your starting lineup.
Taj Gibson (CHI) – He’s having a good season, but enjoy it while it lasts. Carlos Boozer will be back soon which will push Taj to the bench. He should still have some fantasy value as the first big off the bench.
Ronnie Brewer (CHI) – Keep an eye on him and be ready to grab him off the wire if he cracks the starting lineup. He got behind due to some injuries, but seems to be healing up.
Robin Lopez (PHO) – What a fantasy bust. If the Suns had anyone else, Lopez would be riding the pine.
Zach Randolph (MEM) – 23 points, 20 rebounds. The back is not an issue.
Xavier Henry (MEM) – Give him a look if you are in a keeper league. He’s definitely not afraid to shoot the ball and it appears that he has passed Sam Young in the rotation.
Jermaine O’Neal (BOS) – He probably needs to shut it down and get healthy. Get him on your fantasy bench.
Hedo Turkoglu (PHO) – He had absolutely no chance against Zach Randolph Monday. It’s probably time to cut him to the wire and you definitely don’t want to start him against strong opposing PF’s.
Brandon Rush (IND) – He has completed his 5 game suspension and will probably be in a timeshare with Mike Dunleavy.
DeShawn Stevenson (DAL) – He got a surprise start last night but didn’t do much with it. Probably not worth a pickup.
