Fantasy Basketball Daily News and Notes (12/17/10)

Daily Cash Games –  Fanduel.com has a $4000 Fantasy Football tournament this Sunday, so definitely check that out if you are a fantasy football player.  Entry to the tournament is $10.   Registration at Fanduel.com is free and there is a bonus on your first deposit.

From the iPod‘125 Part 2’ from Joell Ortiz.

Trevor Booker (WAS) – Booker got a start with Andray Blatche and Yi Jianlian out of the lineup.  He didn’t shoot that great going 2-8, but ended with a decent line of 11pt/9reb/1blk.   He’s probably not worth a pickup right now, but put him on your watchlist for later in the season.

Nick Young (WAS) – Continues to be a hot fantasy play with John Wall out, 22 points Thursday.

Kris Humphries (NJN) – Another good game, 12pt/17reb/2blk.  The guy is making a name for himself and definitely extending his career in the NBA.  The only bad thing for the Nets here is that he’s blocking the development of Derrick Favors.

Devin Harris (NJN) – Very inefficient 29 points on 7 of 25 shooting.  He added 9 assists and was 14-17 from the line.

Jordan Farmar (NJN) – Anthony Morrow is out for a couple of weeks and Farmar got the start at SG beside Harris.  Farmar didn’t put up much of a line, 9pt/3ast.  He’s clearly more comfortable as a PG rather than a SG.

Josh Smith (ATL) – Tough game, 0-10 for 1 point.  Only 4 reb and 3 assists.

Marvin Williams (ATL) – Williams somehow blew up against the Celtics for 26 points.

Jeff Teague (ATL) – Teague got some extra run with Joe Johnson and Jamal Crawford out and had a good game going 8-11 for 18 points and 3 steals.

Rajon Rondo (BOS) – Rondo is going to be out for at least a week.  Nate Robinson will start in his place.  Robinson had a very average line Thursday going for 14pt/5ast/3stl.

Paul Pierce (BOS) – Pierce had 10 assists with Rondo out.

Shaq O’Neal (BOS) – Shaq missed again Thursday with a leg injury.  Glen Davis was the beneficiary of extra minutes and had a good line, 18pt/10reb.

Tim Duncan (SAS) – Duncan put up the line of the night, 28pt/16reb/4blk.

Ty Lawson (DEN) – Looked great again last night filling in for the injured Chauncey Billups, 15pt/7ast.  The team operates just fine with Lawson running the show.  If Melo gets traded, Billups may find himself on the way out too.

Carmelo Anthony (DEN) – 31 points on 10-20 shooting.  The trade talk doesn’t seem to be affecting his performance.  He aggravated a thumb injury, so check his next gametime status.

Yao Ming (HOU) – Another stress fracture in his ankle.  This could possibly be the end for Ming.  Guys in keeper leagues will want to grab Jordan Hill, he could be the starter next season for the Rockets, or at least have a solid spot in the rotation.
