Fantasy Basketball Daily News and Notes (12/27/10)

Daily Cash Games – I had a great team for the Fanduel.com Sunday $6000 NFL Tournament , but Michael Vick ended with a zero because his game got moved to Tuesday and I ended up in 55th place out of 239 teams.  If Vick would have played, I probably finish in the top 10, but those are the hazards of traveling for Christmas and not being up on the news or being near a computer.

Holiday Posting Schedule – I’ll be in and out this week, so posting might be light.  I’ll be back posting full speed on Monday, January 3rd.

Fantasy News and Notes from Sunday’s NBA action:

Mickael Pietrus (PHO) – Might be a better fantasy option than Jared Dudley.  It looks like Phoenix is trying to work Pietrus in to the rotation just to see what they have.

Marcin Gortat (PHO) – He’s probably long gone off your wire, but check to be sure.  Phoenix is going to give him some heavy run at center.

Baron Davis (LAC) – He’s been playing much better lately and should get control of the starting PG spot, 15pt/9ast.  Eric Bledsoe only got 17 minutes Sunday.

Martell Webster (MIN) – Bad shooting game, 3-12 for 8 points.

Kevin Love (MIN) – 16pt/18reb.

Antawn Jamison (CLE) – Helping his trade value, 24pt/6reb.

Mo Williams (CLE) – The Cavs are leaning heavily on Williams, which is great for fantasy owners, 17pt/5reb/11ast.

Derrick Rose (CHI) – Nearly put up a triple-double, 23pt/12reb/8ast.

Carlos Boozer (CHI) – Continues to roll with Noah out.  If you ever wanted to trade Boozer, now is your chance.

Ben Gordon (DET) – He’s still starting, but still doing nothing, 3-6 for 7 points.  I just don’t think the guy is fantasy worthy anymore.  He’ll have some big scoring games, but most of the time he’s going to be a one category player, and sometimes not even that.

Marco Belinelli (NOR) – Belinelli is starting to fade and this could be a golden opportunity for Marcus Thornton.  Check your wire to see if someone gave up on him.

Xavier Henry/O.J. Mayo (MEM) – Henry started but only played 15 minutes.  Mayo came off the bench for 25 minutes and had a better game.  This could be a problem timeshare for the rest of the season.

Roy Hibbert (IND) – Hibbert is really struggling with his shooting right now, but he’s still a top 10 center, so you can’t really bench him.  Hopefully,  he’ll snap out of it soon.

Rashard Lewis (WAS) – Got a huge 42 minutes Sunday, which is great news for fantasy owners.  He put up a nice line with that time, 21pt/12reb.  Be aware though, that this was most likely the result of the Wizards being without Andray Blatche and JaVale McGee, who were suspended.  I’m not sure where his final landing place is going to be this season and he could be trade bait as the deadline approaches.

Andray Blatche/JaVale McGee (WAS) – Both players were suspended for a fight – with each other.  Idiots.  At least it wasn’t captured for the world to see like the Mississippi State players.

John Wall (WAS) – Managed to get back on the court for 19 minutes, but didn’t put up much of a line, 2-9 shooting for 4 points.

Tony Parker (SAS) – Solid line, 20pt/6reb/14ast.

Chauncey Billups (DEN) – The wrist doesn’t seem to be slowing him down, 24/pt/3reb/4ast.  Keep him active.

Gerald Wallace (CHA) – Gametime decision for Monday.

Al Harrington (DEN) – Suffered a dislocated right thumb Sunday, check his next gametime status.  Kenyon Martin could see some extra run if Harrington misses time.

Daniel Gibson (CLE) – Missed Sunday with the flu.  Anthony Parker got the start.

Mike Conley (MEM) – Needed stitches in his hand, check his next gametime status.
