Fantasy Basketball Daily News and Notes (12/8/10)

Daily Cash Games – I went 0-1 on Fanduel.com and 2-3 on FantasySportsLive.com Tuesday.  Big schedule of 11 NBA games on Wednesday, so there should be plenty of action on all the daily cash game sites.

Mary BalintDaily Distraction Girl.

Brook Lopez (NJN) – He had a decent scoring night going 8-16 for 24 points, but he still doesn’t want to rebound the ball.  He has become an frustratingly inconsistent daily play.

Jamal Crawford (ATL) – Crawford got hot Tuesday going 11-17 for 26 points.  He got a boost to 37 minutes of court time with Johnson out, which should continue for at least another month.

Antawn Jamison (CLE) – It looks like Cleveland has been a little more serious lately about limiting Jamison’s minutes to around 20.  Maybe they are trying to keep him fresh for a  midseason trade.

Spencer Hawes (PHI) – Got 32 minutes Tuesday and put up 10pt/12reb.  If he continues to get near 30 minutes a game, he’s a must add, especially in keeper leagues.

Thaddeus Young (PHI) – Big game completely out of nowhere, 26pt/11reb on 11-12 shooting.  Congrats if you saw that one coming.

Chauncey Billups (DEN) – Good game, 25pt/3reb/5ast/4stl.

Stephen Jackson (CHA) – There was some concern with Jackson Tuesday about a calf problem making him a game time decision, but he didn’t look slowed at all, 23pt/9reb/7ast.

Dorell Wright (GSW) – He came off the bench Tuesday, but still played 45 minutes putting up 17pt/11reb.  He’s been a great late round draft pick.

Jason Kidd (DAL) – 3pt/7ast against Golden State.  I’m sure many owners were hoping for a big night against the Warriors, but it just didnt’ happen.  Kidd has been inconsistent this season and just about unusable in daily cash games.

Rodney Stuckey (DET) – Had a horrible first half but managed to salvage a decent overall line in the second to lead the Pistons in scoring, 18pt/4reb/5ast.  He did have 6 turnovers though.

Shane Battier (HOU) – Played 38 minutes through a stomach virus.  His contributions don’t always show in the boxscore, but he was largely responsible for shutting down the Pistons on defense.

Ben Gordon (DET) – Gordon got an unusual 37 minutes of run because Richard Hamilton got ejected, but he didn’t do much with it going 3-11 for only 9 points.

Greg Monroe (DET) – Detroit is trying to work him more into the rotation and he should be grabbed in keeper leagues.

Luis Scola (HOU) – Scola finally had another big game, 35pt/12reb.

Kyle Lowery (HOU) – I think Lowery keeps getting better as the season progresses, 22pt/12ast with 6 steals.

Earl Barron (PHO) – Another start and a solid 32 minutes.  I’m not sure he has that much upside, but if you are desperate for a big with starter’s minutes, he’s an add.

Steve Nash (PHO) – Good game, 24pt/15ast.

Brandon Roy (POR) – I’m not sure what Portland is doing with Roy.  I’ve seen rumors of them not wanting to start him in the second half in an attempt to keep him fresh, yet they rode him for 38 minutes last night.  Most healthy guys don’t go 38, much less a guy with no cartilage left in his knees.  I don’t want to hear anymore ‘bad luck’ talk when Roy finally breaks down, they did it to themselves by playing him too many minutes.

John Wall (WAS) – Wall had a great game and he really needed it to get his confidence up again.  22pt/14ast.

Nick Young (WAS) – 30 points off the bench Tuesday.  He’s an add if you are desperate for some scoring at the shooting guard spot.

Pau Gasol (LAL) – The hamstring looked just fine, 21pt/14reb/8ast.

Terrence Williams (NJN) – He’s back with the Nets after a ridiculous demotion to the D-League.  He’s definitely worth a gamble if anyone in your league gave up on him.

Andrew Bynum (LAL) – Says he’s going to be back on the court December 14.  I’ll believe it when I see it.

Andray Blatche (WAS) – Missed Tuesday with a bruised hip.  Not sure how much more time he’s going to miss.  Yi Jianlian got the start for Blatche.

Jodie Meeks (NJN) – He started again and seemed to really give the Sixers offense a boost.  He could stick in the starting rotation for awhile.
