Fantasy Basketball Daily News and Notes (1/31/11)

Posting Schedule – I’m going to be out for 10 days starting Thursday, February 3rd.  I’ll be back posting full time on Monday, February 14.  I’ve had enough snow and winter and I’m headed out of here on a cruise with my wife to celebrate our 16th anniversary.

Paul George (IND) – I put out a note on George a few days ago advising to pick him up and now that the Pacers have fired Jim O’Brien, I think George is even more of a must add.  He’s going to get a shot in the second half as the Pacers try to figure out what they have in him.

Roy Hibbert (IND) – Roy Hibbert is a guy that you want to try and trade for with his price sitting at rock bottom.  Maybe the coaching change can light a fire under him.  Get your trade offer out there soon if you want Hibbert.

Chris Bosh (MIA) – Returned to the lineup after missing time with an ankle injury and managed 36 minutes, putting up 20 points and 7 rebounds.  Get him back in your lineup.

James Harden (OKC) – He’s been starting the last few games with Thabo Sefolosha hurt, but hasn’t done much, 5pt/6reb/5ast.

Jeff Green (OKC) – Green is finally starting to wake up a little after a very mediocre season so far, 23pts/11reb.

Kendrick Perkins (BOS) – Working his minutes up pretty quickly, he got 28 last night.

Kobe Bryant (LAL) – Didn’t get much help losing to the Lakers, but he certainly did his part, 41 points on 16 of 29 shooting.

Manny Harris (CLE) – Got the start last night and put up a pretty good line, 20pts/6reb/3ast.  He could get a serious look in the second half for the rebuilding Cavs.

J.J. Hickson (CLE) – Hickson’s weaknesses were on full display against Dwight Howard.  He’s still very raw and has a long way to go, 0pts/11reb, and his defense on Dwight wasn’t that good.

Dwight Howard (ORL) – 20pts/20reb and most of that was by halftime.  Howard only played 26 minutes in the blowout.

Ryan Anderson (ORL) – 5 of 10 from three.  Add him if you need 3PM, especially from the PF position.

Carmelo Anthony (DEN) – An off night for Melo, 3 of 12 for 12 points.

Thaddeus Young (PHI) – Got hot shooting 10 of 12 for 21 points.

Greg Monroe (DET) – Great night for Monroe, 14pts/17ast.  He’s a great young keeper.

Ben Gordon (DET) – Got an opportunity for minutes with Rodney Stuckey and Rip Hamilton both out, 35 points on 12 of 21 shooting.

Timofey Mosgov (NYK) – I have no idea where this came from or that the guy was even capable of this kind of line, 23pts/14ast.  Probably still not a pickup, but keep an eye on him.

Marcus Thornton (NOR) – And the inconsistency continues, 3 of 11 for 10 points.  He did manage 10 rebounds though.

Emeka Okafor (NOR) – Missed the second half of Sunday’s game with a strained hip.  No word on how long he might be out.

Marcin Gortat (PHO) – Another huge line, 25pts/11reb, with a couple of blocks.   He’s probably already gone in your league, but check just to be sure.

Deron Williams (UTA) – Missed another game with his sore wrist and I get the feeling that this could be a little more serious than the Jazz are letting on.  The Jazz are currently sitting in the number 7 spot in the West and just don’t have the luxury of letting Williams sit very long out of cautiousnesss.  Earl Watson got the start, 8pts/5ast.

Monta Ellis (GSW) – Tough night for Ellis, 1 of 9 for 2 points.

Stephen Curry (GSW) – Was able to pick up the slack for Ellis and lead the Warriors to a win, 27pts/6reb/7ast.
