News and Notes from Saturday Night’s Fantasy Basketball Action:
Tyler Hansbrough (IND) – Started again last night but only got 23 minutes, 10pt/5ast. Grab him in keeper leagues.
Roy Hibbert (IND) – He’s seeing a sports psychologist now. Hopefully, he can find out where his shot went.
Maurice Evans (ATL) – Evans got the start with Jason Collins moving to the bench. It was a situational mathchup, so Collins should be back with the starting unit next game. Evans did nothing in his 28 minutes, 0pt/5reb.
Ersan Ilyasova (MIL) – Ilyasova started and had a solid game, 22pt/13reb, in 4o minutes played. He’s got some skills, but his minutes fluctuate wildly.
Chris Douglas-Roberts (MIL) – He’s had two excellent games in a row and it might be time to scoop him off the wire, 24 points on 9-14 shooting.
Andrew Bogut (MIL) – Missed with the flu. Check his next gametime status before starting him.
Jordan Farmar (NJN) – Got a start and 32 minutes with Devin Harris out, 20pt/10ast. Farmar is starter level talent and could move into the starting PG spot if Harris becomes part of a trade bring Melo to town. He’s worth a gamble if you have an open bench spot.
Kris Humphries (NJN) – Continues to work, 22pt/8reb on 8-12 shooting.
Rashard Lewis (WAS) – After finally letting down my guard with Lewis in yesterday’s notes, he went out and dropped an egg on me, 4pt/7reb/3ast. Now I remember why I don’t play Lewis.
Stephen Jackson (CHA) – He was a surprise start last night and managed 41 minutes, 21pt/10reb. Unfortunately, Jackson was on my bench. Go ahead and get him back in the lineup. The Bobcats will lean heavily on him with Wallace still out.
Andres Nocioni (PHI) – Played through his broken finger, but it was definitely affecting his shooting, 2-8 for only 5 points.
Greg Monroe (DET) – Owners in keeper leagues definitely want to check the wire to see if Monroe in still out there, 16pt/13reb in 31 minutes. It was Monroe’s second game getting 30+ minutes and also his second straight double-double.
Glen Davis (BOS) – Bad shooting night, 4-17 for 11 points.
Derrick Rose (CHI) – Carried the Bulls to a win over the Celtics by shooting 10-19 for 36 points.
Ronnie Brewer (CHI) – He’s really starting to grab most of the SG minutes for Chicago. Brewer got 33 minutes, while Keith Bogans got just 12. Brewer can grab some steals if you need help in that category.
Zach Randolph (MEM) – Continues to be an underrated fantasy producer, 27pt/16reb.
O.J. Mayo (MEM) – 5-17 for 11 points. He was one of the most consistent fantasy players for a couple of seasons, but has now turned into one of the most inconsistent. It’s still a mystery as to why this has happened. For now, I think he remains a bench player. What he really needs is a change of scenery and trade. Hang on to him for now if you own him.
Kevin Durant (OKC) – Great shooting night, 13-24 for 40 points.
Russell Westbrook (OKC) – 22pt/11ast and he even contributed 3 blocks.
Hedo Turkoglu (ORL) – 17 assists. Definitely worth an add if he’s still on your wire. Jameer Nelson had 1 assist.
Shawn Marion (DAL) – Doing a good job covering for Dirk, 18pt/8reb.
DeShawn Stevenson (DAL) – 8-13 for 24 points. He’s a good short term add, but just remember how inconsistent he can be.
Al Jefferson (UTA) – He’s been turning it on lately, 24pt/13ast. Maybe he’s just getting the hang of the Jazz offense? He could be a great second half trade target.
Kyle Lowery (HOU) – Shot 1-13 for 6 points. Ouch.
Matt Barnes (LAL) – Had surgery on his knee and will be out for quite awhile. Ron Artest will have to play more minutes, but it probably won’t boost his fantasy value very much. Lamar Odom could benefit slightly.
