Fantasy Basketball Daily News and Notes for Monday, December 17
Dec 17, 2012 Blog
Hope all you guys in the fantasy football playoffs had a successful Sunday and good luck with Monday Night Football! I survived yesterday, one more game to go next week. Here are the fantasy basketball highlights from Sunday:
Houston 96 @ Raptors 103
Patrick Patterson missed the game with a bone bruise injury.
Marcus Morris got the start at PF, 19 points and 6 rebounds.
Jeremy Lin 7 points and 2 assists. He’s almost unplayable in fantasy leagues. Houston is probably regretting that fat contract right about now, while the Knicks are quietly smiling.
James Harden 14 of 15 from the free throw line. Soon teams are going to figure out that if you stop Harden, you stop the Rockets. I’d double and triple team him and dare any of the other Rockets to step up.
Jose Calderon had a triple-double, 18 points, 10 rebounds and 14 assists.
DeMar DeRozan 19 points on 19 shots.
Alan Anderson finally shaking off the rust, 24 points on 12 shots. He’s worth a look, considering the Raptors are desperate for scoring.
Terrence Ross could get a little run with so many Raptor injuries. He should be on your waiver wire watchlist in keeper leagues.
LA Lakers 111 @Philadelphia 98
Metta World Peace is playing out of his mind this season, 19 points, 16 rebounds, 4 steals and 2 blocks.
Dwight Howard double-double, 17 points and 11 rebounds. 3 steals and 2 blocks.
Chris Duhon with a respectable game, 14 points and 4 assists.
Kobe 34 points on 21 shots.
Nick Young is back from his toe injury, 30 points on 23 shots, 6 of 12 from three.
Spencer Hawes 7 of 12 for 16 points.
Evan Turner 16 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists.
Kwame Brown got the start at center, 8 rebounds and 3 blocks.
Denver 122 @ Sacramento 97
Kenneth Faried a subpar game, 6 points and 8 rebounds. He’s been inconsistent all season.
Ty Lawson 11 points and 7 assists.
Andre Iguodala with another decent game, 11 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists.
JaVale McGee 7 of 9 for 19 points. He’s really improving as the season progresses.
Jason Thompson a double-double, 16 points and 10 rebounds.
DeMarcus Cousins a double-double, 19 points and 11 rebounds.
Isaiah Thomas 20 points and 4 assists off the bench. The 4 assists were a team high. This guy really needs to be starting for the Kings. Stash him on your bench if you have a spot.
Marcus Thornton missed another game for personal reasons. He’s probably just mad the Kings keep jerking him around. Like most shooters, the guy needs to be getting 30+ minutes a game.
New Orleans 94 @ Portland 95
Ryan Anderson 7 of 10 from three, 26 points.
AF Aminu got a start at SF, but just 8 total minutes.
Greivis Vasquez almost a triple double, 23 points, 8 rebounds and 11 assists.
Anthony Davis not looking very good on the boards, 5 rebounds last night.
Dominic McGuire just signed with the Hornets and could work his way into 25 minutes a night. Keep an eye on him.
LaMarcus Aldridge suffered an ankle injury, check his next gametime status before using him.
Nicolas Batum with a rare 5 x 5: 11 points, 5 rebounds, 10 assists, 5 steals and 5 blocks.
Wesley Matthews tried to give it a go with his hip injury, but only lasted 4 minutes.
