Fantasy Basketball Daily News: Big Baby Edition (1/26/10)

Glen ‘Big Baby’ Davis wants to drop the ‘Big Baby’ nickname.  Hey Glen, maybe if you quit acting like a spoiled, crying baby then people might quit calling you big baby.  Maybe the recent $25k fine for obscenities yelled at a fan will get through to him.  Earlier in the year Davis suffered a hand injury while getting in a fight.   Changing your name isn’t going to change your character,  just ask J.R. Smith, who wanted to change his name to Earl this season.

Fantasy Basketball Player News and Notes:

  • Marcus Thornton got the start with Devin Brown traded to the Bulls.  He makes a nice pickup.
  • Monta Ellis is out Tuesday.
  • Wilson Chandler is likely out on Tuesday with a groin injury.  Larry Hughes could see some extra minutes.
  • Nate Robinson is likely out Tuesday with a hamstring injury.
  • Al Harrington is dealing with a sore knee, but should play Tuesday.  His stats have been down and I’d probably keep him benched until he shows he’s healthy.
  • Ron Artest should play Tuesday.
  • Nicolas Batum was able to return for Portland and log 10 minutes.
  • Carmelo Anthony missed last night, Joey Graham got the start.  Melo should be back for his next game.  Arron Afflalo also got extra minutes and had a big game.
  • Al Horford suffered a cut on his left finger and had to get stitches.  He returned to the game, but his was less effective.  Be careful starting Horford in his next game.
  • Chris Andersen suffered a sprained ankle against the Bobcats.
  • Kenyon Martin got ejected in the second quarter against the Bobcats.
  • George Hill got another start for the Spurs Monday and might be worth a look in larger leagues.
  • Jamario Moon was able to return for the Cavaliers after missing a few games with an abdominal injury.
