Friday’s NBA Schedule, Lines, Injuries, Probable Starting Lineups

Portland (-7) @ Toronto   181.5 Total
POR:  R. Felton, W. Matthews, G. Wallace, L. Aldridge, M. Camby
TOR:  J. Calderon, D. DeRozan, R. Butler, E. Davis, A. Johnson

  • Marcus Camby will return after missing time with an ankle injury.  Not sure how many minutes he’ll get.
  • Nic Batum suffered an eye injury in his last game and is probable.  Even if he does play, his minutes will be trimmed with the return of Marcus Camby.
  • Jerryd Bayless is a gametime decision.  Jose Calderon will lose some minutes when Bayless returns.
  • Andrea Bargnani is a gametime decision, but probably won’t be able to play Friday.  Ed Davis should pick up another start.

Atlanta @ Philadelphia (-6)   184 Total
ATL:  J. Teague, J. Johnson, M. Williams, J. Smith, Z. Pachulia
PHI:  J. Holiday, E. Turner, A. Iguodala, E. Brand, N. Vucevic

  • Spencer Hawes is out Friday with his achilles and back injuries.   Nicola Vucevic should get the start.
  • Philadelphia has the top defensive efficiency rating in the NBA.

Denver (-7)  @ Washington    206 Total
DEN:  T. Lawson, A. Afflalo, D. Gallinari, T. Mozgov, K. Koufos
WAS:  J. Wall, N. Young, C. Singleton, A. Blatche, J. McGee

  • Carmelo Anthony missed practice Thursday with a personal issue, but he should play tonight.
  • Rashard Lewis just returned from a sore knee and has lost his starting job to Chris Singleton.  Avoid Lewis until he gets his starting job back.
  • Timofey Mozgov will play tonight.
  • Charlie Villanueva is out Friday.  Jonas Jerebko will soak up some extra minutes.
  • Rudy Fernandez is a gametime decision with an achilles injury.
  • Nene is out Friday.  Kosta Koufos will get the start.  Al Harrington and Timofey Mozgov will have some extra minutes available.

Phoenix @ Boston (-7)   185.5 Total
PHO:  S. Nash, J. Dudley, G. Hill, C. Frye, M. Gortat
BOS:  A. Bradley, R. Allen, P. Pierce, K. Garnett, J. O’Neal

  • Phoenix made a few lineup changes last game starting Ronnie Price and Markieff Morris, but Steve Nash and Channing Frye got a majority of the minutes.   Seems like it was a weak way to try and cut the starters minutes a little to keep them fresher.
  • Rajon Rondo is out with an arm injury.  Keyon Dooling is having injury issues too, so Avery Bradley could get the start.
  • Jermain O’Neal hurt his wrist in his last game, but will play Friday.  Check his gametime status just to be safe.

Milwaukee @ New York  (-5.5)  189.5   Total
MIL:  B. Jennings, S. Livingston, C. Delfino, J. Leuer, A. Bogut
NYK:  I. Shumpert, L. Fields, C. Anthony, A. Stoudemire, T. Chandler

  • Stephen Jackson was benched for the second half of the Bucks last game and he’s been suspended tonight for missing the team bus.   Sounds like Jackson is going to be a fantasy disaster for ahile until he whines his way out of Milwaukee.  Shaun Livingston will get the start for Jackson.
  • Mike Dunleavy will return Friday and could get decent minutes with Stephen Jackson suspended.

Memphis (-4)  @ Detroit    182 Total
MEM:  M. Conley, (T. Allen/OJ Mayo), R. Gay, M. Speights, M. Gasol
DET:  B. Knight, B. Gordon, T. Prince, J. Jerebko, G. Monroe

  • Will Bynum is out tonight.
  • Tayshaun Prince is averaging 23 points a game over his last three and might be worth riding the hot streak.
  • Rodney Stuckey is out tonight.  Brandon Knight will start and get all the minutes he can handle.  He’s a good daily fantasy play.
  • Detroit has the 28th ranked defensive efficiency rating in the NBA.

Chicago (-5) @ Cleveland    186.5 Total
CHI:  D. Rose, R. Hamilton, L. Deng, C. Boozer, J. Noah
CLE:  K. Irving, A. Parker, O. Casspi, A. Jamison, A. Varejao

  • Anthony Parker will return to the starting lineup, which will send Daniel Gibson back to the bench.
  • Derrick Rose is a gametime decision.  CJ Watson and John Lucas III will split PG duties if Rose can’t go.

LA Lakers @ Orlando (-4.5)   182 Total
LAL:  D. Fisher, K. Bryant, M. Barnes, P. Gasol, A. Bynum
ORL:  J. Nelson, J. Richardson, H. Turkoglu, R. Anderson, D. Howard

  • Hedo Turkoglu is suffering from back spasms and will miss Friday’s game.  Quentin Richardson will probably draw the start.
  • Jason Richardson is probable.  JJ Redick will see a reduction in minutes with the return of Richardson.
  • Glen Davis is attending a funeral in Louisiana today and is questionable to return in time for tonight’s game.

Sacramento @ San Antonio (-11)   197 Total
SAC:  T. Evans, M. Thornton, J. Salmons, (J. Thompson/JJ Hickson), D. Cousins
SAS:  T. Parker, K. Leonard, R. Jefferson, T. Duncan, D. Blair

  • Jason Thompson got the start at PF over JJ Hickson in the Kings last game and I’m guessing he probably gets the start again tonight.  The minutes for both guys are risky.
  • Be careful with Tim Duncan, there’s been some speculation that he could get a game off soon.

Minnesota @ LA Clippers  (-5)    190.5 Total
MIN:  R. Rubio, L. Ridnour, D. Williams, K. Love, D. Milicic
LAC:  C. Billups, R. Foye, C. Butler, B. Griffin, D. Jordan

  • Michael Beasley is out.  Derrick Williams will continue to start at SF.
  • Chris Paul is listed as questionable.  Chauncey Billups will likely get the start at PG with Randy Foye starting at SG.
  • Keep an eye on Nikola Pekovic, he could start seeing more minutes at center.  He got the start over Darko Milicic in the second half of the Wolves last game.
  • Mo Williams should play tonight.

Indiana (-3)  @ Golden State   193 Total
IND:  D. Collison, P. George, D. Granger, D. West, R. Hibbert
GSW:  (C. Jenkins/N. Robinson), M. Ellis, D. Wright, D. Lee, A. Biedrins

  • Stephen Curry is listed as doubtful.  Charles Jenkins will likely get the start, but Nate Robinson will get more minutes.
  • Danny Granger is still having problems with his ankle.  He’ll play tonight, but his performances have been very erratic, which makes him a very risky daily cash game play.
  • Roy Hibbert has a great matchup against Andris Biedrins and makes a great midranger salary daily play.
