Oct 15, 2009 Blog
I posted a website review for 365FantasySports.com on the homepage this morning, so check it out if you are interested in playing daily fantasy sports cash games. I have also previewed FantasySportsLive.com and Fanduel.com in the last couple of weeks. On to the fantasy news:
Nice video showing an alley-oop from Rajon Rondo to Kevin Garnett. The knee looks pretty good and Garnett isn’t limping at all like he was a couple of weeks ago.
BulletsForever.com reviews ways to improve the amount of information found in the daily boxscores. Great ideas, but really hard to implement in a small boxscore space.
BlueBlitz.net with fantasy outlooks for all of the Oklahoma City Thunder players.
USAToday reports that Flip Murray is showing early signs of a stress fracture in his left shin. Murray had a stress fracture in the same leg back in college. No timetable for his return. Charlotte is going to be thin at the shooting guard this season, but Raja Bell should be set as the starter and see good minutes with Murray out.
Dime Magazine with their Top 10 Fantasy Small Forwards.
Luol Deng was able to play in back to back games getting 22 minutes last night. Seems like he is recovering well from the stress fracture in his right tibia but doesn’t quite have the explosiveness back yet, getting a dunk and a layup blocked last night. He is a good risk/reward draft pick and I’ve seen him going pretty late in most drafts so the risk isn’t huge if he doesn’t pan out.
RotoSynthesis with four fantasy players who are being drafted way too high this year. Good research article on Pau Gasol, Manu Ginibili, Kevin Garnett and Caron Butler.
Washington Post reports that Antawn Jamison left last nights game with a shoulder injury (so far a sprained right shoulder) and will get an MRI to determine the exact injury and degree. Jamison left last night with his arm in a sling – not good. If you need a fill-in, grab Andray Blatche.
FearTheSword.com reports that Anderson Varejao suffered a left wrist injury and had an MRI. The injury was labeled as a ‘left wrist contusion’. Probably nothing serious and Varejao remains a solid late round pick and even has center eligibility in Yahoo games. JJ Hickson should be injury insurance at the PF spot.
EightPointsNineSeconds.com with an excellent article examining the eight man rotation and distribution of playing time of 1-8 players and 8-12 players. Something to keep in mind if you are thinking of going deep into a teams bench in your fantasy draft.
DallasNews.com with a rehab report on Josh Howard. Howard recently returned to contact practices but he isn’t one of my favorite picks this season since he slides to shooting guard and has to compete for minutes with Jason Terry, not to mention the fact of major offseason ankle surgery.
Hakim Warrick has been looking good this preseason and is starting to creep up my draft sheet. Joe Alexander hasn’t developed and Warrick might get a long look at the PF spot.
Dime Magazine with the results and analysis of their 12 Team H2H Fantasy Draft.
Hoopsworld.com with their Top 40 Fantasy Shooting Guard Rankings.
FanHouse.com preview for Rodney Stuckey and preview for John Salmons.
While it is still only preseason, Greg Oden put up a 17 point, 13 rebound performance last night. I think people are sleeping on Odom this year due to the past injury history and media criticism.
BleacherReport.com with their Shooting Guard Fantasy Rankings and Analysis.
