Friday Fantasy News 10/9/09

Remember, the News will be moving to the individual tabbed positions just above the blog on Monday.  This will allow me to post more news on individual players in a smaller, more easily readable form.  The ‘Daily Boxscore Review’ will appear in this blog section beginning Monday.  Also, I have created a Yahoo Fantasy Basketball Bloggers League.  League ID:  220695.  Password:  blogger.  Join a band of bloggers for year round fantasy action.  On to the fantasy news.

Josh Whitling of ESPN with an article on how to handle the turnover category when building you fantasy team.

ESPN Fantasy columnists Keith Lipscomb, Eric Karabell and Brian McKitish with their Top 175 Fantasy Lists.

BuserSports.com with his fantasy ranking and analysis of the Small Forward Position.

RotoSynthesis compares H2H and Rotisserie Fantasy Basketball and offers tips and strategies for each.

The replacement refs have been blowing the whistle nonstop in the preseason and if this continues there will be some great handicapping bets on the ‘overs’ early in the season.  Home teams are also 16-5 so far in the preseason.  Check out my article from September 20 when I discussed the totals issue and the home team favorite issue.  Let’s see how quick the linesmakers adapt.

Philly.com reporting that Samuel Dalembert is getting involved as a focal point of Jordan’s Princeton offense.  Also says his attitude is better this year.  The article points out that his shot is the second best on the team, but considering how bad a shooting team Philly is, that’s pretty scary.  Dalembert is still a late round center selection, but maybe he isn’t going to be as bad as I think.

I put Nenad Krstic at #25 in my Center rankings and think he could be a real sleeper this season.  The Oklahoman has a nice article today on Krstic and what he brings to the team.

PointsInThePaint.com with their Top 5 ‘Big-Ball’ draft strategy point guards.

If you are a stathead like me you will probably want to check this out:  Pro Basketball Prospectus 2009-2010.

Fanhouse.com with a great preview of Anthony Randolph.

MercuryNews.com reports that Stephen Curry will be a part time starter this season.  I not exactly sure what a ‘part time starter’ will be in terms of minutes played, but you have to like the fact that he is getting consideration and trust.

I’m getting a bad vibe about Lamar Odom this season.  I’ve seen sites who are trying to dig up every rumor imaginable on Lamar.  I guess that is what happens when you marry Khloe Kardashian – drama follows.  I’ve already seen claims of Odom openly smoking weed this summer (he’s had past problems with this) and one from his ex of 7 years saying Odom cheated on her with Kardashian.  While it is just tabloid chatter you have to wonder how much the off court drama might get to Odom, espcially when the inevitable divorce from Kardashian happens – and it will happen – and it will be a train wreck.

Rockets-Buzz.com makes the case for Kyle Lowery to get some minutes in Houston.

Raymond Felton is getting ignored in Charlotte.  DJ Augustin got most of the playing time last night and he performed pretty well.  Felton is on that one year contract and probably isn’t going to get re-signed by Charlotte.  The Bobcats could take a long look at Augustin this year, which doesn’t help Felton’s fantasy value.
