I’m trying to get the draft rankings up toward the end of next week, so be on the lookout for the lists. You can find each position rankings and news under the appropriate tab just above the blog on the homepage. These lists are really rough drafts right now, but should evolve over the next couple of weeks to be in final form in time for your drafts.
Article from NetsAreScorching.com comparing Courtney Lee to Vince Carter. The post points out several areas where Lee should be an improvement over Carter in the Nets system. I think Lee is going to get major minutes this season and should be moving up draft rankings.
ESPN reports that Minnesota intends to sign Ramon Sessions to 4 year, $16 million offer sheet. Once Sessions signs, Milwaukee has 7 days to match the offer. Getting Sessions out of Milwaukee would boost Brandon Jennings’ fantasy stock, but might really hurt Jonny Flynn in Minnesota.
ESPN updates the contract status of David Lee and speculates that he may be getting a 1 year deal in the $6-8 million range. I’d much rather see Lee get locked up somewhere to produce a little stability in his fantasy value. I’m not sure a 1 year deal is going to make Lee very happy and willing to go all out on the court this season.
Results from last night’s D-League Expansion draft.
NBA.com with a nice article on Tyson Chandler. Looks like he might finally be healthy which should enable him to pick up big minutes in Charlotte. Of course that all depends on Larry Brown abandoning the stupid idea of using Chandler at backup PF.
OregonLive.com reports that Martell Webster has been cleared to resume basketball activities. They also take a look at what his role might be on the team this season. Missing last season with a broken bone in his left foot really put him behind in devolopment. I think he is probably going to slide down the rankings, at least for the first couple of months until his role becomes defined.
Eurobasket.com reports that Beno Udrih will miss at least 3 weeks with a knee injury. Not much information available on this one yet, but I’ll check back later.
The Houston Rockets have completed the signing Pops Mensah-Bonsu. He should give them another big man to help fill in for Yao Ming. It could be his best opportunity to show what he has.
