Fantasy News and Notes:

Al Horford (ATL) – Suffered a sprained right ankle.  Not sure how severe it is, but Zaza Pachulia and Jason Collins could get some extra run if Horford misses any time.

Josh Smith (ATL) – Took advantage of the Heat being without their starting PF, Chris Bosh, and put up 15pts/12reb/3stl.  It could have been better, but he only managed to hit 6 of 18 shots.  Smith even took three long balls, which he just shouldn’t be doing.  Take it to the basket Josh.

Chris Bosh (MIA) – Missed with a sprained ankle.  Joel Anthony got the start for Bosh and grabbed 16 rebounds with 3 blocked shots.  He didn’t take a single shot.

Gerald Wallace (CHA) – Not a great night shooting, 5 of 14, but he did manage 13pts and 16 rebounds.

Boris Diaw (CHA) – Followed up his monster triple-double with a mediocre 12pts/2reb/2ast line.

D.J. Augustin (CHA) – I just traded a $7.00 Gerald Wallace for a 25 cent Augustin in one of my keeper leagues.  Our salary cap in the league is $50.00.  Augustin should be a great keeper for next season, especially if Paul Silas remains the head coach.  Wallace hasn’t been that great this year and he certainly hasn’t been worthy of being the highest paid player on my fantasy team.  The only thing that really hurts is that I traded away one of my beloved Alabama Crimson Tide alumni.

LeBron James (MIA) – Returned after missing a couple of games with an ankle injury and went right back to work, 34pts/10reb/7ast.

Taj Gibson (CHI) –  Got another start for Carlos Boozer and played 47 minutes, but only put up 9pts/9reb.  He did help fantasy owners with 6 blocks though.

Derrick Rose (CHI) – Gave it his best try, but just couldn’t carry the Bulls to a win, 14 of 28 shooting for 33 points.

Ronnie Brewer (CHI) – Starting to get most of the minutes at SG for the Bulls.  He got 31 last night while Keith Bogans was limited to 17.  Give Brewer a look if you need points and steals.

Mo Willliams (CLE) – Doubtful for tonight with a hip injury.  Mo just doesn’t seem to have the desire to play basketball anymore and was just looking for an excuse to sit out.  He’s probably not going to be a very attractive fantasy play in the second half, especially with the Cavs looking to rebuild that roster.

Marcus Camby (POR) – Will have surgery on his left knee for a torn meniscus.  Not sure how long he’s going to be out.  Joel ‘Vanilla Gorilla’ Przybilla will likely start at center, but look for Dante Cunningham to probably get the bulk of the actual minutes there.  Anthony Randolph anyone?

Dante Cunningham (POR) – Cunningham is going to get a chance to show his skills with Marcus Camby out.  The only problem with Cunningham is his size, listed at 6’8, 227 pounds, he’s going to have some difficulty with bigger centers.  He’s a Chuck Hayes type center.  I’m not crazy about Cunningham, but if you want to gamble, give him a flier.

Greg Oden (POR) – He’s still walking with a cane, which must make him look like he’s at least 50 years old.  He can’t even walk on a treadmill yet and his rehab schedule is at least a year.  You have to feel for the guy and the organization.

Brandon Jennings (MIL) – His target date to return is January 31.
